The mind is a powerful tool.

It can be used for innovation, intelligence and fun. The many joys of having a ethical and intelligent thought will never be able to be grasped due to the unimaginable. The mind can create scenarios that could never happen with just a simple thought. Oh the power this thing can have.

But as the cheesy super hero saying, "With great power comes great responsibility." This line brings out so much more thought when considering the mind as power. Also the saying goes as "Knowledge is power" so it just reinforces the fact. Our mind comes with great responibility. But what kind of responsibility do we have with our mind?

As a thinker, I like to contemplate thoughts as they pass through my mind. Why do we communicate the way we do, why do Americans have a task orientated thought process, what color does a smurf turn if you choke it? Questions are all around us and I believe it is our duty to hear them. You would think I would say to answer the questions, but life isn't here to figure it out. There are just those things that can't be answered. Since there are questions that won't ever be answered, then why bother answering any questions in the first place? Understanding.

With understanding, our horizons reach so much farther. A deep appreciation concludes an understanding and with appreciation, life can be fulfilled to its utmost. Without life at its utmost, it leads us to an ever ending quest to seek out an answer that we can't find: "Why?" The ambigious 'Why' can never truly be solved except in this one rhetorical thought: "Why not?" Students will moan and gripe when a professor answers a question with a question, but the students aren't the only ones learning in the classroom. Asking questions in return of a question just continues the thought which we already defined as power.

Also to consider with too much thought, our minds can become corrupt. Intaking what we shouldn't ruins what we have been churning in our heads and eventually make it bad. So having the responsibility of knowing what to put in and keep out is the most important thing we can do to keep our power safe and valuable.

I guess what I am trying to say is that our minds hold the power. It has the key to unlock joy. And by guarding our minds will allow us to keep this power, the key, which is joy. With joy, the possibilities are unimaginable. :)

Answer me this: Why do we say what we say?

As a communication major, I try to learn and understand how people communicate both verbally and nonverbally to each other. And something that has been on my mind is internet lingo. I looked at a previous post of mine and I used the word 'hawt' and I wonder why I said it like that. To answer the question, I don't know. Your guess would be as good as mine.

But in particular is the "L" I keep on seeing. Are we that conservative with our time that we have to utilize one letter phrases?

Oh well, to make this short, why do you say what you say?

I just realized I was gone for too long from my blog. I wanted to write a lot in here, but I just forgot/gave up on it. Well anywho here we go again.

I am currently a Junior in college, a year and a half to go. I am over the half way point. I look out for my career is on the horizon. I just can't wait for what is before me, but the problem is, I look back as well. I turned 21 this past weekend (happy birthday to me) and I always dreamed of the day I would get to this day. The day went and past. Now what? I don't have any more birthdays to look forward to, except maybe the day I can get senior specials :D. Mmmm....bacon....woah, sorry. As I was saying, I look back. I can't help it. I think about all those times I had and how I it was fantastic but I always looked forward to something else. At the moment, it was this birthday, and now it is over. This makes me realize that time is ever moving. With every passing second, a new time has arrived. Things will never be the same, therefore seize the day. Take advantage of life and enjoy it. Don't spend your time looking back but rather living in the moment. If you don't get anything out of it, well at least you had fun trying. :)

One of the things I detest is the rain. Ever since I had to start walking through the weather to get from class to class, the rain has been one of my worst enemies. It doesn't add beauty like snow does. It doesn't add a breeze like a wind does. All it does is make me and what I am carrying, wet. Soaking wet. Honestly, if I could just walk through my years without getting wet, things would be that much more fantastic.

But then I started thinking, it needs to rain. Sure I hate it so much, but it is necessary for plants to grow. Yeah, it's a nuisance, but I'll get used to it. I'll try to avoid it as much as I can, but there will be those nights (like tonight) where I have to wade through it.

The same can be applied to those things we don't really want to encounter. Yeah, for the most part, it needs to happen, so just grit your teeth and move on. Things will never always go your way. Just appreciate those moments in which you can enjoy and possibly you will come to appreciate that which you don't like, like watching the rainbow after the rain.

Look at that, I've already lost track of when the new boards went up. It doesn't help when I just woke up from watching Heroes for a few hours on a lazy night at college.

Something I've been trying to understand is the phrase, "Live and Learn." What does that actually mean? When I think about it, it's a saying that means we live and pretty much we make mistakes. From these mistakes, we need to learn. Another saying is "History repeats itself." We don't want to commit the same mistakes we have made already, or else what is the point of living? At least it'd be a very dull life...

But does this saying not have something tagged along with it? I've recently been using it as an excuse to my mistakes in life. I don't think I am justified in doing this. I yell at a friend for not knowing how to do something, "live and learn." Wow, I feel like I just tossed them aside like yesterdays old eggs. This is not something I should be striving for, rather, to avoid. Don't be using this phrase as a crutch, but a guideline. Sometimes the lesson could be a pricey one, so learn as much as you can from the lessons learned in life.

Welcome. You've come into my lair. Let me be the first to say, boogady boogady boo, on the new forums. hehe, I've always loved that phrase. Come to think about it, there will be a lot of firsts that come with the new forum. First person to post a rate this, first person to blah blah, you understand the point. The question is, does it matter? Not like you can say in a few years that, "I was the X person to do X." It's not logical to do that. What should be happening, is community. Having fun, enjoying others, meeting new people. We just made a transfer from an older forum to a community suite forum. That's not cheap, but to have one of the best communities, every penny was worth it.

Go out there and make use of the new space. Let your images come alive using the new gallery. Let your words speak forth with the new blog feature. I certainly hope to see this forum live with users very soon.

Just a word, my blogs will be short to medium length of words I'd like to say to those who read these words. Take them with a grain of salt, but add your comments as well. I'd love to hear your input as well. :)

Not a normal entry as the title implies, but I've been sick for a week straight with the chicken pox. So if you've been wondering where the heck I am, this could be the reason. Other reasons could include but are not limited to the following:

My laptop's motherboard died and I ordered a new one.
    Hide Status is on.
    I don't visit certain forums.
    You scare me.
I've chopped off my fingers so I can't type anymore.
I've sewed my fingers back on and am in recovery.
Ducks have taken me to the circus.
I may or may not actually be human.
I may or may not actually be camel.
I may or may not actually be able to give you 7 years bad luck if you break me.
When they say that I am contagious, I think it could be contagious through the interweb.
    I haven't had enough lulz.
I found the meaning of life and therefore sold it as a game set.
The Keebler elves make way too good of cookies and am so fat, I can't fit through the tree.
I've been sniped by a camera phone while I was sleeping.
My base has belong to them for the longest time.
Team Rocket is on the loose and I have been trying to stop them.
Carrots can harm grown adults and therefore am afraid of rabbits.
If someone can convince Das or N_Odie to read this, they will earn my gratitude.
    I've lost my marbles.
I've lost how to get to the forums.
I've lost myself in your eyes.
Facebook games have taken over my Runescape time.
I am a freelancer for videography and produce and hire people.
    I have a head ache.

Now it is up for you to decypher down which ones are correct here. Here is a hint. Only a couple are true. Maybe 5-7. Good luck and I hope to see you all more once I am better.

I was talking with one of my friends over facebook and we started discussing things that we were involved with. He brought up the fact that he doesn't feel recognized in the activities he participates in, and for that, I gave him a proposition. I told him to think about these words: "What does it mean to serve?" I decided to think about them as well and these were my results.

When I think of the word 'Serve' I immediately think about an act of service to which one does for a purpose. This is either working on the job, helping out a friend, or providing a party for people to come and enjoy. Those are just a few examples of serving. Serving comes in a variety of ways, whether low end or high end, but all positions are important, but a lot of people serve just for themselves. Working on the job, you serve your boss so you can get paid. Helping out a friend, you serve so you can preserve that friendship. Providing a party for people to come and enjoy, you serve to receive inner joy in creating a place of enjoyment. There is a purpose, conscious or subconscious to which we serve for our own purposes, but that doesn't mean it has to stop there. While working on the job, you are serving your boss, but are you not also providing for those that the business serves? That means you are serving a lot more than just you. Helping out a friend, you could be teaching them how to do their homework, which indirectly lead them to finish their education and help serve others. The outcome is endless!

So the next time you are serving, you're not doing it just for yourself, you're doing it for others. You will impact far more people with you service than you will if you don't at all. It's as simple as that.
