  1. yeah, I noticed that the kite was very close to the CW armour. Luckily it's untradeable, but now why waste tickets on it when you can get the next best thing free of charge?

I just wish I could get the robes the prayer person has, and the rest of the armour set. (Maybe the advent of a new quest can solve this)

  2. I love how you can equip different equipment while in your inventory and see how it affects your stats, and the close of up look of your character is pretty cool even if I don't have any eyes

I wholeheartedly agree. This is the proverbial "silver lining" to the cloud of misery that has shrouded other aspects of the interface.

I shall oft use it, But it has been jaded somewhat by the fact that it's difficult to easily see how much weight you are carrying. This drawback is paltry compared to the awesome equip screen, but the positive effects Balk at the ugly orange font, and low qulaity buttons that come with the package.

  3. I wrote a very long, caustic and comprehensive post on the rants forums about this. I very much disliked the buttons and options/emotes menu layouts, as well as the orange font.

I very very much like any freeplay update (except ones that include the removeal of all text...) and was enthralled by the very good looking shield I got. (not as good as anti-dragonfire, but looks great!). I intend on remaking an outfit on it. The new signposts will not help me, nor the new newcomer map, but they should not be disregarded, for they are small wonders in coding, and relative beauty. compare that almost stellite quality image to the line drawing it was previously, and you get a definate improvement to the game. I shall have fun with the equiptment menu and certain easter rings. It's also very handy for comprising character screenshots showing new items, and also is wonderful for displaying wealth (I wonder what happens when you open it up, then equip that onyx ring?) It's also nice to see myself in more of a higher resolution.

despite this, I am still very very disappointed in the Java Game Experts (JaGEx) in their ruination of a prefectly good interface, in which the only bright point is the levels button looks marginally better.

THis update has been very much a mixed bag for me.

  4. I have all F2p emotes but the zombie dance...

Until leo calls me again, that's it ::'

I buried over a thousand chicken bones (not in a bank) on the first day of that event. I got lots of shades, but no leo.

I still have mime to go, and I'll never get chichken dance if you can count that. I can't wait until I get lean!

  5. you can always make one. Just get the necessary equiptment together, or get someone else to see you. then get them standing on an easy to crop off area like grass, wahtever. then take a screenshot, opein in paint, and make everything you don't want white. It dosen't take that long, really.

  6. noob question, where can i get MS paint?

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint

If not, do a search for mspaint.e3e (CAUTION - executable file).

This is assuming you are using Windows OS.

Or, if you're cool, go to start -> run and type "mspaint" into the box.

Graphics gale is probably better, but paint is good for it's ubiquity. It's on pretty much every windows computer in the last 11 years, so if you want to do somthing quick, you can go into paint and know how to do things faster or easier.

Myself, I use paint a lot, because I'm too lazy to use anything else (Gimp takes ages to load), so I knew most of this before from my experience (actually, some of it (the 10x zoom) I learned form an article like this.)

  7. I am freeplayer and spend a lot of time burying thousands fo big bones trying in vain to get the last zombie emote so I can drop the armour. I'd prefer to keep some of my random event armour, but I end up dropping a lot of it. So far, the only things i'll be keeping are lederhosen stuff and mime.

I recently experienced a rarity, I actually had extra space in my bank! usualy it's a challenge to fit all my armour in there with nothing equipped, but today, I got it down to everything and one extra item. I will spend awhile training, then spend a week gettign rid of anything I can.

I support any motion to increase size.

    Runescape name: "Dork Vader 0"

  8. those are very nice, indeed, I imagine few surpass such talent (that I have seen, which isn't saying much). Neverhteless, who am I to judge such raw telent as good or bad? I am not melerly unworthy of viewing such great art, but I am also unworthy of even posting on such a topic as this. The truth is, I am amazed by the relative ease in which you put to pen your ideas, and how small they are, yet up close they show the true talent. Never shall I procure or obtain such an avatar for myself, for I have no good ideas worth of being forever immortalized by the hand of such a wonderous artist. If only the reverse were true, and an idea did spring to my mind, then truly, such an event could easily be regarded as a miraculous act of god himself, deigning to bless me with such a digital masterpiece (by the way, this is nothing to say of my religion or lack thereof, I'm merely stating the improbability of such an event while telling of the elation i would feel were it to be made a reality). there is nothing I can say here to compliment your workings, for no such word exists that can describe the amount of awe I feel as i see how good that is. Such masterpieces are above such petty ratings as one can so haphazardly bestow upon the more banal of tip.it art. it is for the above reason that I cannot, and will not disgrae this by putting to type here a rating of such astounding work. there is nothing i dislike more than to see good work shamed in such a way as to leave it disgraced unrealistically.

I do hope you read all that and did not get too bored by my lack of writing ability. It's one of my great flaws. good work.

  9. And while you're at it, Jagex, how about some new F2P quests? Sure, playing the F2P version of the game is supposed to make people want to become a member, but your member base is increasing more and more every day! So how about a new free quest or two as a sort of "thanks" for staying loyal and continuing to play your game?

I'm sure most of you reading this topic have already read the above, and i'm certain that what the mysterious editor has to say here has been lauded by many people already in the last four or so pages. I would like to add that I do, ideed agree with the above, but that is not quite the extent of what I have to say on it. Many people have ranted for ages on end, and even sent in a letter or two about it, but to my knowlege, no one, especially no member has posted that in such a public and prominent place. It's almost like saying "donate $10,000,000 to Moldova" in the new york times, with a good case behind it too.

I would like to thank the editor profusely for his concern, and for thinking about the other half of runescape, as many members don't. I have noticed that the folks at "jagex towers" have included a few graphical, and later sound updates for freeplayers. Apart from being a huge break from the "tradition" they had going for awhile of not updating freeplay at all, this seems to have heralded the return of updates for both halvs of the aparthied(please excuse my buchery of spelling)

apart from my biased opinion about the freeplay mention, the article was good, all in all. True, this may not have been the editor's best, but it's very difficult to relate quest difficulty when one has all thirty-nine quest points. It reminded me of the days when I had not completed all the quests, but Loved the ones i was doing. I savoured each moment, and was sadly disappointed when I was all done.

I can't wait for the next one!
