whats the most monsters uve killed to get a clue scroll?

I absolutely know ring of wealth and glory dont work!! I killed about 450 hounds with both eqquipped and i finally got 1 =( the clue was junk also. -
How many hellhounds do i have to kill for a lv 3 clue???

I finally got one after about 450 hounds i did and all i got was a zammy helm and rune dagger=l I guess its ok. -
I have started a count and have killed 367 and ive got no clue.. :evil: How many do you guys usually kill???
