  1. Its not too often Tip it Times has an article I dont enjoy, but I have to greatly disagree with the "Wake Up" article. I hadn't kept very up to date on what had been happening in Runscape over this past 1 1/2 - 2 years (Ironically I was playing WoW), but i recently came back to a runscape was quite different from the one I left. The graphics in the game had been redisigned a bit, summoning had been added, as well as numerous quests and minigames. Just to name a few. To someone playing regularly over that time frame, the game probably didnt seem to have changed much at all, but I was very pleased to jump back into the familiar game that had grown quite a bit. This could very well tie into last weeks article of "Why do you play Runescape?". Is it for the huge updates that come around every so often? Its seems like you expect Jagex to Reinvent the wheel every couple of months. No ones wants that. More skills? Are you serious?? It's more that enough keeping up with the ones we have. It almost seems like you would enjoy playing WoW for Blizzard's updates more, where the game is turned upside-down every 2 years from a new expantion. Which leads me to the WoW article. This article certainly wasn't the first dicussion Ive seen comparing RS with WoW, but I did enjoy it immensly, especially after coming back from playing it for a year and a half. I enjoy both games and for different reasons, as the author stated, it is impossible to comepare the two. They both have thier stong and weak points. PvP in runscape doesnt compare to PvP in WoW in my opinion. In runscape you run over to your target, attack, and hope big numbers pop up. It can get far more in depth than that, but for the most part it is simple pvp for a simple game. And there is nothing wrong with that. Even at low levels pvp in WoW required a quite a bit of skill and thinking, given the multiple classes and layout of the game. Not to mention the plethorea of abiliteis you have by lvl 80. As far as quests in WoW killing mosters and collecting things gold old pretty quick, I missed the challenges of runescapes quests. Two good games for different reasons.
  2. Im not too big on quests, but the most memorable moments I had while questing was talking and listening to the captured gnome pilots in the jail during "Monkey Madness." Man those gnomes were halarious and I owe them my sanity after getting captured countless times. I think Jagex put them there to lessen the chances of the Jagex H.Q. getting firebombed. One thing that I enjoy the most is the lighthearted and sarcastic humor you find EVERYWHERE in Runescape. Everything from telling Nomad the Soulwars mage that " I need to leave, I think I left my house on fire," after hearing his maniacal cackling; to NPC's reminding you that you are playing a video game, I have to commend Jagex for keeping it funny. Far too many things to list here!
  3. I was wondering which monsters were common lvl 3 clue droppers? Thanks Grond
  4. Ok Great! Thanks all! I was worried about my friends Char, but no longer! hmmm, another friend of mine quit a couple years ago and he had a Phat.... I wonder if he remembers his Pass...... :D
  5. I was wondering how long you have to be inactive in Runescape before Jagex deletes your account? (I was told it was 2 months but that is incorrect)
  6. Great Vid!!!! I liked the real time, vs fast farward, although some of you didn't. Yes I agree with you 100%! Why is there all this flaming, especialy for teleing? It's the Wilderness, people are there for blood.
  7. Now if there was a store that had infinite logs, (which I dont be leave there is) one could fletch stackable arrow shafts from an infinate log supply. Slooooow xp though, onle 5 for each log I think. Once thats done go to a store that sells feathers and buy infinite feathers for your infinite shafts.... but magic bows would definitly be faster and more profitable. Bronze bars... Balls of wool... There are a ton of ways to make steady, but rediculously slow xp. Mages and Rangers get a TON of help from this though! Infinite arrows and runes are ok by my book :) , though I feel for the fletching market...
  8. Support! I can never remember who everyone is on my list
  9. Well, Like Mrmyk said the 2nd trade window pretty much eliminates all possibilities of getting scammed, unless you're not paying attention or just dont know what somthing is worth. Also I think it would create more problems than it would solve, you would have people using the undo option after trading just to tick others off regaurdless of the trade being fair or not.
  10. Count me in!!!!!!!!! :D awesome idea. My best is melee and I dont care what I am. Wow this would make an amazing minigame!!! I also think that for the Witch King, if this is p2p, then ghostly robes, Verak's Flail and a slayer helmet would be great. Sorry i dont have a pic though. Even though LOTR has nothing whatsoever to do with RS, somone should mention this the TipIt crew for an official event; organizing somthing this big is gonna take alot of coordination.
  11. WOW! 10- 12 hours a day! I wish my bank looked like that :D. Was surprised that he didnt have a dragon chain, but then again each row in his bank could each probably get him a chain anyways! lol Anyway great nice article! Was an very interesting read from an accomplished player. Loved it. Bye the way, why wasnt TheOldNite mentioned in the "race for xp"? Im assuming hes still #2....
  12. Wow, nicely put. Mostly now you only hear ppl bashing jagex's customer support and the company in general. Its not easy managing somthing that huge succesfully like andrew and the team have done. Like you pointed out they have a very, very full plate. I think the article meant well and was well written but it was one sided. Hopefully whoever wrote it wont stop giving us articles over this incident. One thing that would be nice though is if there was more in game interaction between jagex and their players. Ive been playing for almost a year and have never seen an official jagex staff member ( only a few mods here and there). Andrew used to interact in game with quite a few people back in the classic days. Of course that was much easier with only several hundered accounts vs 2 million now. But it might help to lighten the load on customer support if they had staff members playing the game along with the mods (getting feedback, ideas, ect). The mods were definitly a great idea but i think the ratio of mods to players is too small, and scince the population explosion more mods sure couldnt hurt.
  13. Taking legal action over something like this would be rediculously nuts. As far as the article being very onesided,well...... I liked it and i think it has some good points. Jagex does have tons and tons of ban appeals/password recovery/reports to file through every day though so something is bound to go wrong like Andrew pointed out. But taking action against tipit would certanly solidify the argument of jagex going power crazy.
  14. Yes, all of tip.it knows java like the back of their hand? People who work for Jagex are usually Java pros! I know, I was just being silly
