  1. Always found the skill calculators very useful, but I was wondering if it would be at all possible to add an extra column to some of the calcs to show the costs for materials? For example, say Player X has to smith 1000 gold ores to get to his next smithing level. It might be useful for some people if an extra column called "cost" was added say between the name and number columns. Prices could be based off the mid GE price. In the case of Player X, it would say "1000 - 293,000gp - Gold Bar". This would be the cost for 1000 gold ores. I know this wouldn't apply for all skills, but I think it would quite useful for some, especially if people are trying to work out finances and such.

Any criticism/feedback would be welcome :)

  2. You might be able to get an adhoc wireless network set up, I know Windows 7 will let you do that and I'm pretty sure XP will too. All you need to do then is make sure you've got sharing turned on and you should be able to copy things between "Shared Documents" on each computer.

  3. This ought to be in T&C really, but oh well, a mod will probs move it for you.

What are the specs of your machine? I know when I was playing this on my old desktop I tried force enable anti-aliasing via the Nvidia control panel, and that caused me to get random stuttering and blurry text problems in game so I had to turn it off. If you've got any specs tweaked this way I suggest you try turning them off, see if that helps. Also, are you running anything else in the background, like Xfire/instant messaging programs etc? If so I'd try turning those off to see if that helps.

  4. Go make sure your Java is up to date, and that your browser is as well. If you're using Firefox, try disabling your addons then reenabling them one by one to see if one of those is causing a problem.

If that doesn't work, do you run anything else at the same time as RS?

ehh maby runescape hasen't updated it's mac software yet.

    =D>

  5. I got an 8600GT for my old computer back in summer 2008 for £40 ish, which would have been $70 back then, so no idea where you've got that $200 price from now :P

Methinks you guys are missing something obvious here anyway. How old is your computer and what are the rest of the specs (Processor and RAM/memory)? No point in getting a graphics card with 1GB of memory if your computer only has that much RAM anyways. If it's quite old and you only want it for HD, you may aswell save a bit and get something like a 4650, that will do HD just fine, even on high settings with anti-aliasing.

  6. Before I got my G35s I used to use a Logitech Clearchat Pro headset, which cost about £20, and the sound quality on that was pretty good :) Just take note when you're buying of what type of connector you get, headsets have either an audio jack (goes in headphone socket) or USB connector.

  7. 25Gb limit or speed? If it's the latter then I call "Hax!"

I know certain programs let you limit speed (uTorrent), but tbh by slowing down the speed you're not going to change the size of a youtube video, it'll just take longer to load. I'd suggest doing a hunt for programs that fix the description you posted, and also, try and limit how much time you spend on the web. If you still can't limit yourself enough, how about getting an 'unlimited' net connection?

  8. +1. Most of the computers in my house are Dell and I've had few problems with each. My dad's desktop is 7 years old and works fine, and I recently got one of the new Studio 1749s and it works fine :) Compare that to a friend of mine who got an Acer of a similar spec, and the hard drive broke after 2 months use. Anyway, if you want something that's reasonably sized and would make for a good desktop replacement, and play games reasonably, I'd vouch for the Studio 1749. Mine was £750 ish, I'd imagine it'd be slightly cheaper in the US.

  9. Was hoping the 'surprise' would be something more than Portal 2 on PS3 (Get a move on with Episode 3?), I'd guessed that would have anyway, maybe not as direct release from Valve though. I'm just curious to know if Gabe actually changed his mind or if he was persuaded in any way. Anyway, some more gameplay: http://videos.cynamite.de/v/TetolYSnywI/Portal-2/E3-Gameplay-Szenen-in-HD/ Site is in German, but what little speech there is in the video is English. Still hunting for more in on New Vegas and Brink if there is any.

  10. Gabe already said before that there isn't going to be a Half-Life 3 as such, I remember reading an interview where he said he didn't want another long development process like Valve did for HL2 and that the episodes are supposed to make up HL3 as such. I wouldn't expect a TF3 for now either, or L4D3. Most likely they've got something else that's new alongside Portal 2, which perhaps might involve a new engine.

Anyway, we shall see, still waiting for more information on Brink.

  11. The new Fallout: New Vegas trailer looks awesome :D Can't wait for it to be released now, I'm hoping it's less buggy than FO3 when that came out though.

  12. Not sure about the new menu, it looks nicer than the original, but I had mine customised l so I could connect to some favourite servers easily. Ah well, plenty of easy free weekender kills, as per usual :P

So close to another hat, 3 scrap metal to go and I've got 1 spare weapon from each class :P

  13. Depends what you want to do with it, if you play a lot of games you need to replace hardware every 2-3 years if you want to keep something that's top of the range. Having said that, I still have my dad's 7 year old Dell running XP/Ubuntu just fine, it's fine for web browsing and working on documents/presentations. Everything inside it still runs perfectly well.

  14. Why is PC not in the title? D:<

I think when they first came out Xbox had the edge in terms of games I would have played, but now the PS3 looks like a much better console now. Of course PC still wins outright, but since you haven't mentioned it I'll assume you acknowledge that it knocks the socks off all consoles

  15. The law here in the UK is that if you learn in an automatic you can only drive an automatic (apologies if someone pointed this out before); so pretty much everywhere teaches with manuals unless you're disabled, or specifically ask to learn in an automatic. I get the impression anyway that more people drive manuals here anyway, compared to when I've been on holiday in the US and the hire cars generally seem to be automatics. Idk though, I'm used to driving a manual car and will probably continue to do so.
