Like, if I made a box, and I wanted to gradient a brown color iside it, but only within the lines of the box, how would I do that? WHne I use the gradient tool, it fills the entire picture.

K, thanks. How do you use a gradient in a confined space? I think it has something to do with fill, but I can't find it.

Have you ever seen one of my pixels? I'm pretty sure I know how, compared to you... :? I'm asking about how the GIMP works...

Does anyone know anything about the GIMP? Because I just downloaded, and I'm wondering if it is usefull for making pixelart, and if so, are there any tutorials for it? I've looked through the mainsite ones, they're mostly useless to me. [be great if tttia posted on this, her posts are always very helpfull!]

So, I was going to enter this in a competition, but got blown away by Demented hero, so, what can ya do, right? Well, I decided to post my progress up here, starting with thisrough outline with some shading done on the main character. [The hardly noticable block of yellow next to his shoulder is the lights direction] So, go ahead and crit what I have so far and help me brainstorm ideas for what else I should include, I'll be updating this periodicaly. :D

Kneeling has as little action as standing, and the turned character looks like cardboard. 'X's for eyes are not good either.

Yeah, if I just got hit with a 99 I'd probably be flying through the air with half my armour broken off, an dthe person hitting me would be almost kneeling with the force of the blow, with his sword like stuck in the ground.

To clear up: I made the neck like that intentionaly. His neck is craning forward, and any vestiges of flesh you could normaly see behind his head is covered by the D-med. I'll try an amulet as well, what type do you guys think would be best?
