So what if it kills merching? Make money by playing the game. I can't imagine anybody wouldn't miss the occasional bargain but if it cuts down the time I have to waste buying and selling I could imagine I'd cover the cost. Decent merchants should be able to adapt to changes anyways, if you could call it a skill.
