It's sad (unhappy, don't mix them up...)that his life led him to think that suicide was really the right thing to do. :( His family must be in so much pain, and I feel sorry for them. As for the hacker/friend, I doubt he's ever going to get over it, and he better not.
Well, many of you may not believe me, but I'm honestly having problems like those he had right now.
I'm currently going to a school my parents forced me to go to, have few friends, no close friends (my only close friend moved away) and I really havn't found one thing to be passionate about in my life.
But there's always the same thoughts in my mind that keeps me going. I always tell myself the same things, that suicide is a sign of utter weakness and selfishness towards the ones I care about. I have also realized that everything in the universe happens for a reason (otherwise there would be nothingness), including my life, and that wasting it would be wasting everything God has given me becuase of my own selfishness.
So no matter what happens, I just make sure I'm hard on myself and realize that suicide is NEVER and option. For anyone of the Tip.it Forums with problems that he and I had, I recommend you sit down at a desk, get out a pen and paper, and make a list of 100 reasons why not to commit suicide. Once you get that list done I guarentee that those thoughts of suicide will never grow into something far worse, just as long as you never forget about your list.

When you guys start working on pixels what kind of framework/sketching/etc do you do to begin each pixel sig? ONe example I've seen is stick men with circles for joints, but what other methods do you guys use? (Also, I have a scanner, so those options are available)
Hopefully with your help I'll become at least a somewhat good pixel artist :D , unlike the thousands of one swing and miss noob pixelators....
Any other basic advice thats not on the tutorials would be greatly appreciated too 8)
And one more thing (ya, I know, I'm getting annoying) but any advice on a way in which Dagganoth Rex and I can be postioned so at least 3/4 my body is shown and his whole body is seen, us fighting (me maging long distance), and it still being interesting?

for me in northern canada, we have harsh winters, and most of my friends live like a half hour walk away, and its hell in the cold, so in the winter i usually play rs and talk to them on msn during weeknights. on weekends i usually go skidooing, or skiing, and barely play rs at all on weekends. in summer, barely ever play rs cause we can bike to eachothers houses (or i could if my bike wasn't stolen)

I'm 15 years old I sit near the computer average 10 hours every day, it doesn't have to be rs, I could be just watching vids or playing halflife 2 or farcry or cs but it doesn't really matter, still beside the computer, but hot girls still find me hot and attractive. The bad thing is that I'm too shy to do the first step (ask them out.) And I have good friends so don't tell me I have no friends lol.Ya, I'm really shy too (though I've gone a few dates, I've been so shy that its always the girl that asks me out lol). And as I've said before, no need to defend yourselve; your not being accused of anything. This is just a general discussion.

because a small % of the rs population are no lifeing nerds who dont hang out with their friends, and the rest of us play rs on the side.

im 15 years old I only have 3 main friends and i have never had a girldfriend.. but does that make me a bad person?
I play rs about 3-5 hours a day after school and about 8 hours a day on the weekend.. oh and over the summer i played about 15 hours a day...

Some advice from someone who has been playing this game all throughout high school. Stop playing for a couple years, dont let runescape take your life over. I used to play everyday, 5 hours a day minimum when I was about 14. I became a loser.
I did this for about a year until I started hanging out. Runescape isnt even close to "fun".
Go chill with some buddies, get to know people, and play runescape CASUALLY. It isnt worth wasting your high school years on a game. I had the best time in high school and I highly recommend you try to have a good time cause when you get outta school your regret every single moment you werent with your friends.
By the way, im 18 now.

Did you even read what he said? He wasn't talking about "being cool", he was saying that you should spend your high school years enjoying yourself and socializing. If your going to criticize someone, do it right.
Well, one other thing I've learned about how to deal with people who accuse one "not having a social life" is to reply with a simple joke. Since we use shorthand in the game a simple "lol" will nearly always suffice. I've seen people freak out when people say they don't have a life, saying c**p like "I'm on a national soccer team, and we play worldwide" and other things like that. Though its true sometimes (but not usually) its agganizing to watch how they react to such comments. By saying "lol" you end the conversation with the immature noob at least 90% of the time, and on a good note at that.
Also, as said before, there's another thread about this. Lets let this thread die and move conversations and arguments there.

First of all, unless I see a pic, he is totally bsing that...
Second, I'm about to get 85 mage, maybe 87+ if I work hard. Would I have much trouble/lose money if I switch my Ahrims Top and Bottom for a Verac Skirt and Bras (save inv. space, prayer bonus). The slower kills would make me use more runes, but will the Prayer bonus compensate at my levels? (my levels are in my sig btw).

This probably pales in comparison to everyon1 elses stories, but I died once from the poisin of a Saradomin mage. Ended up dieing with full Guthix on (which is like you life savings at level 70). I kept the legs, some rune legs I was carrying, and the plate. :cry: Lost like 1-1.5mil worth of of other stuff.

Been browsing the forums for a while, and I think I'm going to switch that Fremmy helm for a Verac helm, Torag legs for Verac skirt, and maybe switch the Glory for a Holy symbol (not sure on that one).

Yeah, people have diffrent views, some people like there life sitting on a computer some people like playing sports its only a matter of how you look at it, not other people.
Yes, but can you honestly tell yourselve that your living life to its fullest sitting on that computer?
K, more boring points-
Its very true that many people that play the game have very good lives, and many don't, but as said before, everyone has a line that if a player crossed it they would be considered a "no lifer" in the eyes of that person. I myself have a line for this, as do all of you. My personal line is at about 30-35 hours a week (average of 4-5 hours a day). I've got a friend in my clan who NEVER sleeps, and I see him on at 4am all the time, most of the time doing all nighters (I'm EST, he's GMT, I'd be on at 11). In my eyes these kind of people honestly need a real life.
In the eyes of God (total objective point of view) a person is never truly a "no lifer", but they can appear to be one by many people, which may actually make them a true no lifer.
Lets try an analogy: In the world there is believed to be good and evil, but the truth is there really isn't any. The real truth is that good and evil lies in the perspective of each and every person. So, a person who becomes a priest and travels around the world to third world countries is not really good or evil, but in the eyes of nearly every person he would be considered good. Since pretty much everyone agrees he is a good person, he is "good". The same thing goes for people viewed as "evil".
So, it may be impossible to determine if a person has no life or not, but based on the views and "lines" of other people (and maybe even the person him/herself) a person can become a "no lifer" in the eyes of society.
So, all you people trying to say you have a life even though you play 4 hours a day, before others judge you judge yourself. Are you playing to much? Do you need to get outside more? Work on your grades? Become more social? If you can really tell yourself that you play abstemiously, then keep playing. But if you come to realize that you play to much, just take a break and live a little.

hey i was wondering whats the cost to repair barrows armour at different stages. like how much does it cost to repair at 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 0%.
my friend said it costs 1.6k to fix it at 100% so wouldn't it be smart to train with barrows for 2hrs then repair it for just 1.6k! well is this true?
The 1.6k thing, he probably fought like 2 monsters and brought it down to like 98% (it only updates every 25%).
The cost for helms at 0% is 60k

I myself have maged Rex for a good number of trips trying many methods. I used Charged Guthix Claws at first, but the costs were so high that any profits I recieved were low (not exactly a lucky person). So I switched to Magic Dart. With a -30 magic bonus I killed Rex in 20-25 Claws, but with dart I killed him in 40 spells. So, I was basically spending about 31.5k per Rex with Claws, compared to 15k per with Darts (not including Shark/Pot costs). With slow respawning the difference between the two spells speeds' is basically negligent.
So, I recomend you add a pic for mages using Magic Dart, like this one I took of my inv.:

I think when they say "get a life" they may mean "do something better with your time"
Well there isn't anything much better you can do with your time. just like kids building tree forts 30 years ago as that may help them get a job as a carpenter, Runescape helps you develope skills for computer jobs I bet everyone of you own your parents in picture editing and beginning HTML. I didn't know how to take a screenshot until i started playing runescape.
Ya, but do you really learn that much when your playing? I've learned more stuff about computers today figuring out how to work these forums then I've learned in 1.5 years playing RS.
If you wana learn how to use computers, take a Java class or some other computer class at your High School, because playing RS really doesn't help your computer skills in any way(except for typing, I now type like 5x faster because of the amount of time I play 8) ).

Well, think about that. What is having a life for you? People are saying "get a life" because some guy spends a little too much time playing Runescape (or any other game for that matter). If having a life means hanging out with friends, drawing, playing sports, is'nt that the same of playing a game, only differently?
Lets say you play a sport a lot and hang out with friends, people can easily say "Get a life" because you're doing that a lot. Then you play games and then they say "Get a life" and vice versa.
So what I'm saying, "Get A Life" doesn't make sence, "Be more Social" that's better. Or "You're playing this game too much" is another.
If you wanna flame me, do so, but in a orderly manner.

No offense, but this is a HORRIBLE argument. Most people agree that "getting a life" is about going outside, experiencing the world, and all that good stuff. Sitting at a computer monotonously clicking the same thing over and over (ie, alching 10k magic longs...) shows no signs of "life", because it basically requires no interaction with humans or exercise, and will definitely in no way help you in the future.
This seems more like a loophole around one's own personal belief that they play a little too much, though I may be wrong.

There is one basic rule of psychology that I know is true in this game:
In every players mind if someone is a higher level then you (combat or any skill) they have absolutely no life.
If someone is a lower lvl (again, combat or any skill) then they are weak and couldn't beat up a fly, and you can easily own them.
And your level is perfect, strong, but not so good that you have no life.
Do not deny that you've done this lol, cause you know you have. 8)

Lol, its basically impossible to go there alone. I go with a team of 4-5 people usually. I solo Rex, meaning I kill Rex with no other mages. Primes and Supreme usually have to have 2-3 meleers/rangers on them because they are so strong, but Rex can be fought alone if you know how to.

K, I've been to the Dagganoth Kings a lot of time, and if you look at my stat sig (below), you'll know I'm really only qualified to kill Rex.
I've killed him 60 or so times, and so far the only thing I've goten is a lvl 3 clue scroll >.<
A few questions-
1- What do you bring? (inv, bag, pics will help)
2- How many kills do you get per trip? (please add your stats)
3- How many times have you killed Rex, and how many rare items have you goten?
4-What spell do you use?
K, thats all the questions I can think of atm.

99 Mage first of all, I'm addicted to that skill
I'd get all Barrows sets (love Barrows armor) but I almost have that already anyways.
99 Prayer, Rc and Herb would be awesome too, b\c I love those skills :D
Then I'd spend the rest of my cash on runes and show em off:
"Selling 5 million Blood runes! 600ea!" lol :P
