  1. Well, one time there was this fun contest between the boys and the girls. I got asked what "ad" was short for, of course, you would think I would say advertisement. Yet I said....Advert. EDIT: another one is we were drawing some pictures in art and our teacher Mrs Evenson put on some music. It turned out to be....Carlos Santana. He really sucked. So this person who didnt know who it was asked her who he was. She replied with "carlos santana" then i said "sounds more like craptana to me. The music was horrible
  2. How about Tim Thomas. This guy is for real. He only played in three of the regular season games but this man is a beast. I think he had 21 points, 10 rebounds AND the shot that saved the Suns playoff hopes. The Phoenix crew that you have seen in the last two games is the #1 offense in the regular season. They are doing everything well, and if your the Lakers, you are not going to outscore Phoenix. I swear from the angle that you could see Kobe's potential game-winning shot about to go in, but it turned out to be an airball. I think these playoffs are the most exciting in the past 5 years or so. There are alot of good teams and good competition. But Tim Thomas was absolutely outstanding today. Props to the Suns and I hope they can steal the series in game 7 at Phoenix. Keep in mind Raja Bell has been resting this whole time and he plays defense on Kobe.
  3. I dont know if any of you watched the Phoenix game but the intensity was over the roof. Raja Bell got ejected for clotheslining Kobe, then Kobe got ejected for talking back to a ref. He and Bell had already gotten a technical each for getting into it with eachother. Basically, Phoenix was looking to hammer and get the bloodthursty offense going and thats just what they did. All you people who think the Lakers are gonna take this one watch out, the pressure is on the Lakers. This next game is at LA and if the Lakers dont win it then they have to go to a game seven at Phoenix and I guarentee thats something you definatly do NOT want to do. If anyone saw what Steve Nash said afterwords tell me your thoughts. Ive never heard him say the type of things he said. They asked him if he thought that Raja Bell would get suspended for game 6 and he said he wasnt worried because with all the bad calls the league has been making that if they want to start kicking Phoenix's players out of the game thats fine. I think he is fed up with all this Kobe BS. He also commented on how Kwame Brown elbowed Boris Diaw in the chest and stood over him "with his croch in his face" . I think Phoenix is out to draw blood and look forward to the rest of this series.
  4. Besides, if it's up to the refs to make the game more entertaining, then there should be no argument over whether Nash called time-out or not. Barring biased Lakers and Suns fans, people would much rather see a dramatic game winning shot by Kobe Bryant than someone on the Suns inbound the ball and hold it for a win. It was definitely more entertaining this way. :P But thats exactly my point. The refs called jump ball and it made the game so much more entertaining for fans all around the world. Thats exactly what they want to happen, they want it to be the talk of the town. It is also pretty pathetic because thats what I think it comes down to. I would say more about this subject but since I dont know if its true or not it would make me look like a fool. Also when you think about it, Jordan did not get called for alot of travels or pushoffs even though he did them regularly, thats what kind of treatment superstars get, as pathetic as that is.
  5. I'm not a Lakers fan or anything, but I do have them winning this series. About the fouling of Nash in overtime, I don't think there was one. It was a pretty physical play, but from all the replays I've seen it looks clean. Nash himself said that he wasn't fouled. And about the time-out, that's a very tough call. Even after all the replays from so many different angles, it's hard to tell whether Nash actually signaled time. He was definitely screaming it, but that doesn't matter. One thing for certain, he was most definitely not clearly calling time-out. And even if he was, the only angle to be sure about it was from the stands as there were players around him on every other side. I am pretty critical of refs myself, but I don't think they had much choice on this one. Acknowledging a time-out requires that they clearly see the signal, and there was no way you could expect them to have done that in this scenario. Even with all the talk about Kobe and whether he's a ballhog or whatever, no one can deny that he is one of the greatest players to ever play basketball. His personal life is his personal life, and whether you like him as a person is a different story. He is the single best player in the NBA right now. And in this series, the Lakers are really playing like a team; Kobe isn't the only name on the statsheets. They may be getting some lucky calls, but meh, that's just how it goes sometimes. I haven't seen anything blatantly in their favor yet though. But you want to talk about bad calls, anyone see game 3 of the Cavs-Wizards series? Wow, what a travel by Lebron James in his game-winning drive. :P Your saying the Lakers get lucky calls SOMETIMES? You know how many lucky calls they had to get to even put it into overtime. Now if you have watched basketball over the last few years then you will know that Kobe and the Lakers get about the best calls in the game. Now if that had been Kobe trying to call a timeout he would of went BALLISTIC if they hadnt called a foul or said he called a timeout. Think about it. Also you do know that alot of centers use that little switch of the pivit foot that LeBron did, its widely used in the NBA. You also have to remember that the NBA is entertainment and not all about basketball. Of course Steve Nash said he didnt get fouled, if you talk back about the calls that the refs didnt make, boom 25 grand out of your pocket. Yea maybe Kobe is the best player in the NBA right now, but I think that LeBron will be better than him. I mean look at his power, people are in awe that his body is the body of a 21 year old. I dont know if you have seen his "youngest player to..." list yet but it goes on and on and on. He is more of a team player than Kobe is. Even if Kobe has the ability to score more look at the way LeBron plays and his confidence. All Kobe can do is drive and complain, sure LeBron complains but look at some of these calls against him. He gets an offensive foul against him because the guy is so close to him he cant even move his elbows, now thats bs. I dont know if you saw from the angle I saw but there were two referees just sitting there looking STRAIGHT AT NASH. Even Charles Barkley said himself some of these refs swallow the whistle because they dont want to call something against a super-star. Have you ever heard this people say "well if he hadnt of been a rookie he would of gotten that call" why is that? If its a foul its a foul, there shouldnt be any controversy. As for right now I think these refs call alot of things in favour of the home team. But you cant say anything about it because you will get hammered with a fine. Also I dont know if you saw what Kobe was doing after the game when he made the winning shot but he looked like a complete idiot.
  6. I dont know if anyone watched that Lakers-Suns game earlier but Im starting to think its rigged. Nash was clearly calling a timeout AND he was getting fouled at the same time. So it should of either been Nash going to the line or the Suns inbounding it again. Not to mention the fact that the Lakers shouldnt even of been able to put it into overtime. I dont know what the hell some of these refs are thinking but the league needs to fire them. Ive seen it time and time again, the Lakers somehow make a miracle comeback! Kobe somehow puts the shot in and the Lakers win! The Lakers are all too lucky and it really makes me mad sometimes because I absolutely cannot stand Kobe. So if anyone watched the game please comment on what you thought of it. I would also like to see what a Laker fan thinks of all these lucky calls.
  7. BS or not, it did look like AJ got hit by someone ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ã
  8. The arguement over what MVP actually means boils down to two things: should the MVP go to someone who is good but from a bad team or should the MVP go to someone who is good and is on a good team. If you believe the former, Kobe Bryant is probably the most talented, single player in the NBA right now. But the Lakers aren't that good so a lot of people say he shouldn't get it. A good player for a good team who was consistent in both the first and second half of the season is Nowitski. Billups is another contender, but he cooled down in the second half. Dirk was very efficient both halves. You want to know why Dirk was very efficient both halves of the season? Because the teams offense is based around him. Detroit could win alot of their games if Chauncey didnt play, but they do MUCH better when he does. It also depends on what you consider is efficient, for example, Chauncey gets their offense and defense going, he provides assists and big shots. Now Im not saying that Nowitzki is bad, but there is no reason to give him more credit than Billups. Billups is piece of the puzzle and thats what makes him so good. I do believe that Nowitzki can score more points and such, but Chauncey is much more of a team player than Dirk is.
  9. As much as I hate to say this, Kobe WAS more of a team player today against the Suns, but it just wasnt enough to take down Nash and the Suns. Not to mention Tim Thomas was having an amazing night. I think he went 9 for 10. Nash had like 22 points and 10 assists. If the Lakers lose when they play team basketball, then they arent going to win when its all Kobe. Even if they somehow beat the Suns, Kobe cant keep giving 40+ points a night for a whole series. I hate to hear some of these people on the shootaround crew(its kind of like a basketball talk show) say that Kobe and the Lakers are going to win because Kobe is just so great. :x I also like to watch LeBron. He is just so powerful and takes it to the hole when they really need it. I think that he will actually end up having a better career then Kobe will. Ultimatly LeBron is a better player. He averaged 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the regular season. Plus he is really a guarenteed 30+ points every night, and he isnt afraid to take the big shot. I dont really like the Spurs because of Tim Duncan, as great as he is, I just really dont like the way he plays. Its just post-up, flail arms, get to free throw line. I doubt the Spurs will win it this year because Tim Duncan has some sort of condition that makes some ligament on the bottom of your foot swell up or something like that. How can you say that the Pistons got every call, I remember so many calls I was sitting there yelling "what in the hell are the refs thinking?" The Pistons are a great team, they are actually the only team that is a real TEAM. I mean, all their players know their role, and they like it. Like someone said earlier, they have more freedom under Flip Saunders which means they get to play the way they want to play. On another note, I cant believe the Pacers beat the Nets, that foul call at the end was BS.
  10. No kidding, did anyone see that game not too long ago where nash dribbled right into the key and fed Marion I think it was a behind the back left handed pass which he layed it up and in :D . I think Kobe might steal one or two games from the Suns but over all I think the suns should take them down because Kobe win the whole series single handedly. Plus in my opinion Nash and Marion by themselves would should make someone think Phoenix will take it. Nash is just too good. But, if Phoenix didnt have Nash it would be way harder for them to win the series. The same goes for Kobe. I really dont think that Phil Jackson is all that great of a coach, he has just been around once teams got good, as a pose to someone like Larry Brown who makes teams good. Even though that he had a terrible season with the Knicks I think they will improve slowly. I do agree with the posters thoughts about Detroit winning the championship this year. Even if the Spurs make it to the finals(which is highly possible) Detroit has played superior to last year. And if the Spurs barely beat them last year then they should lose to Detroit this year. I still blame Rasheed for Trying to trap whoever it was in the corner leaving Horry open for three to win one of those Finals series games. Most people say that the Spurs will beat the Mavs because they will probably Match up, but I think anyone who says that is mostly just riding the bandwagon and not appreciating how great the Mavs really are.
  11. I think its going to be the mavs vs Detroit. Even though Ginobli and tony parkers driving to the basket is deadly, I dont think they will be able to take Dirk and the Mavs down. Another reason I say this is that I hate the Spurs and want them to lose  . I absolutely cannot stand Tim Duncan because every time it seems like he flops and they call a foul. Detroit is about the only team that you can really call a team. All the players know their roles and they like them. Billups can nail the free throws during pressure as he did against the Heat in last years playoffs. Tim Duncan has also been a bit banged up recently so I think the Mavericks will take advantage of that.
  12. I just find it hard to believe that people believe a book over current modern science...
  13. Dunno, didin't watch it. Wow that sure was a meaningful post now wasnt it.
