    you should have finished the quest as soon as you killed him, that is very odd but I had to kill elvarg from the dragon slayer quest twice before i actually finished it, because he was already damaged when I first attacked him. Make sure first that count draynor hasen't been damaged yet before you actaully stake em'. its either that or its a bug or something

    Of course you can beat elvarg with those stats, I beat him at lv 45(w00t) and I'm still lv 51 lol. Just take your anti-fire shield and you'll be fine and a few strength potions would really help against him.
