  1. ...snip...

    - This was the crux of the argument we had back when the vote happened. Jagex says that bots with free trade can be managed. Nobody can really deny or confirm that, so I'm passing judgement until about a month later.

    ...snip...

Put aside the fact that even though Jagex basicly admitted that Bots and RWT will always be a problem and that Free Trade would vastly increase these problems...

    Answer me this..;

If Jagex claims they can manage Bots and RWT much better, wouldn't it have been much wiser to test those systems before implementing Free Trade? Don't you think it's rather stupid that they dove in face first with all this, before even testng if the water is really deep enough?

    Jagex works in mysterious ways.

  2. I'm sorry you feel the need to ignore my comments. If you want to go ahead and think these photos are good, there's nothing stopping you.

I didn't want to comment because I was afraid I'd hurt your feelings. Clearly, I've managed to do just that.

I wish I could have been more positive. I really do. But when boring snapshots of random uninteresting objects which look like they were taken with a cellphone or a point-and-shoot on full auto are being passed off as "good", it really irritates me.

  3. I might not be clear, but lets say life found its way to a billion uninhabitable worlds (in this axiom life existed in some microbial form before finding the world, and we are not discussing how it would have come about in the first place) and dies in every world but one. Would you say that it is divine intervention that it survived on that world? Or would you say that only on such perfect worlds can life survive, making it luck not divinely driven

The way you've described the conditions, I wouldn't call it an intervention. However there is so much more questions as to how everything came to be in your scenario (like the billion planets, the life that occurred that we don't discuss how it occurred) that it makes the "absurd" higher power much more probable and much less absurd.

If you're curious to how stars and planets come to exist, pick up an astronomy or astrophysics textbook.

He should just watch a couple of episodes of Cosmos.

  4. What is this? I don't even...

I'm sorry, but they're terrible. I certainly don't feel "wow"ed when looking at the first image. It may have looked good in real life, but this is just plain boring. It's tilted, it's just... brown, there's nothing to look at. The point of focus isn't interesting at all. These all "feel" yuck.

Okay. The second one. Firstly, motion blur. Not a good thing. Secondly, why did you even take the photo? I can almost smell the foot odour from here. It's dark, it's brown, it's boring, there's nothing interesting about this photo. There's nothing to focus on, and it just looks MESSY.

Third one, basically the same. This is just depressing. It's two shoes, at an awkward angle, once again dark, blurred and uninteresting.

The only way you could have improved these photos would have been to not have taken them at all. The subjects are uninteresting, and that's one of the most basic things you need to look out for: an interesting subject.

I did do them with longer exposure, but it lost the lighting effect I was going for. (Which only truely worked in the first pic tbh)

But I was upstairs in the dark, rails are round top of staircase. Downstairs light was oin and gave the wonderful eerie glow around them.

When I exposed any further u jsut ended up with a plain photo of what the area wuld be like with a light on.

It doesn't look like you were going for a "lighting effect" at all. These look like cellphone pictures in dim house lighting. There very well may have been a wonderful eerie glow around whatever you were trying to photograph in real life, but that definitely can't be seen in the photos.

  5. I just ran a test - from my spawn point, with no items equipped or in my inventory, I managed to make it INTO the Bandos boss room in 7 minutes and 31 seconds (of course counting banking time etc). This included god items for Bandos, Zamorak and Saradomin, a weapon, a pack yak full of monkfish, and a prayer potion.

Bandos soloing is now almost completely safe :D

You can get back to bandos gwd in under 6 minutes.

    It's always been safe.

With a 6-minute gravestone? You do realise that your items disappear when you gravestone runs out of time, right?

Yes. You do realise it was possible to get back and get your items, right?

Say you made it back in 5 mins 40 secs. You now have 20 seconds to get everything. You might miss something.

  7. The fact that there's no reason for people not to bring a full BoB full of food and safe even in low lvl wild is going to get annoying. Even if i had a yak fighting someone else with a yak would just be lame, not anything exciting as jagex thinks it's going to be.\

Ugh, all i'm gonna be doing is fighting with a tort full of tails/brews for like 10 minutes against someone else doing the exact same thing.

    I'm [bleep]ing mad bro.

It's very easy to get past safing. With chaotic weapons, and claws, it's very easy to deal more damage than the person can heal. PKing is about knocking the other person out before he has a chance to eat his food or run away. It's not about making them use up all their food.

  8. But I use Yaks to bank stuff while I am under attack all the time. If this were taken away just to please pkers then there will be a LOT of very angry summoners out there. I suppose a compromise might be to not allow bank storage scrolls after level 30 wildy but thats not fair on the people who use Yaks to bank rune ores and loot from the wilderness training spots. 96 summoning requires over 9.6m exp. I think it's a fair balance against people using Dragon claws or Chaotic weaponry.

Or not being allowed to yak bank if you're skulled. I think that'd be a fair compromise.

    This seems reasonable.

  9. So you are saying that if I think there is a 0.001% chance that god exists, I would be more accurate in saying "I don't know" than "I'm an atheist"?

If we're going by definitions, yes. Admitting ignorance when you do not know if something is or isn't is probably the best thing to do. When you think something to be true, you believe it. When you think something to be untrue, you don't believe it. When you think something to be bit over your head at the moment and you wish to reserve judgment until further evidence on either side is presented, you don't know. You haven't decided whether to believe it or not yet.

Now can you answer my question: Why say you don't believe him if there is a slight part of you that does?

Do you believe I can fly? Because I assure you, if someone told me they can fly, a small part of me would believe them too. However, in no way would I seriously consider that small part of me that believes them. I would dismiss it as a ridiculous belief, just like how I dismiss a belief in a supernatural deity.

  10. That conclusion hasn't been drawn from the video itself, but from various reports(Twitter, AP etc). But you can clearly see that the military are shielding the protesters, which I would classify as being on their side. This is probably a peacekeeping tactic to minimise conflict.

  11. If you're near maxed, or have a respected skill cape (slayer, herblore, prayer, smithing, crafting, con, summoning, rc,) and go into a f2p world, sure you'll get the occasional troll, but most people either ask for you to do the emote, beg for money, ask for advice from you, or just generally follow you around drooling on you.

This happens to me all the time, and I hate it. lol

Then don't [bleep]ing do it. Jesus Christ.

  12. There is no God unless proven otherwise. I wish we could just leave it at that

Not true. Pluto existed long before humans discovered it.

That's true, but it's absurd to believe in a god until evidence is presented, just as it would have been absurd to believe there was a ninth planet until any evidence was presented. As another example, even if the world ended in 2012, all those who believed that it would end in 2012 would still be lunatics, as there was no evidence to suggest that any such event would occur. It would still have been an absurd belief to hold.

  13.

Come on, you're being ridiculous. I could make any claim and use your arguments. I own a pen that keeps tigers away. Oh, you want to see this pen? Sorry, can't do that. You want proof that this pen keeps tigers away? ... Do you see any tigers? How does it work? Oh, I can't explain that to you. The pen is beyond your logic. This pen draws from the essence of EVERYTHING. How can you test for its power's existence if it is the essence of everything? You will never find scientific evidence because the power that binds this pen is not some type of force or shape. It is beyond it. There is really nothing to find.

It's absolutely ridiculous, [developmentally delayed]ed and down-right stupid to believe in a god without ANY evidence, let alone a specific god(for example, the Judeo-Christian god) if you've thought it through. Using your arguments, like sephiroth said, one would have to accept every supernatural claim as equally likely as the next.

They are equal to the next. You can not prove that human logic is true. Therefor any of our thoughts can basically be said to be false. Yes, even that one ;)

    ...

Well then you must disregard you entire argument, as it can't ever be used, even as an argument for the existence of a god.

  14. But it would be so extremely stupid to believe in a god just because, "Oh, he MIGHT be beyond logic!" and, "It's POSSIBLE that he exists!".

Of course. Because that's using your logic to think about him being beyond logic. Some eastern mystics say "Be still and know", and by that they mean be still physically and mentally. There is no effort, or thinking required to "know" god. But this is not referencing to knowing god as a separate entity or with any characteristics, because god is beyond logic.

That is an inconsistent statement. If the deity is beyond logic, then he is illogical. Also, since he is no longer bound by the realms of logic, one would have to accept every supernatural claim as equally likely as the next.

Also, if God is beyond the realm of logic, then how can one make the claim of his existence? Without logic the claim would have to be completely made up. Also, if God created the universe, then we should be able to test parts of the universe to find his existence within reality--which is bound to logic and science.

Surely can seem "illogical". God doesn't have to be logical though. I say accept what you feel is true. I don't have to make the claim of his existence. And how can you test for something's "existence" if it is the essence of everything? You will never find scientific evidence because god is not some type of force or shape. It is beyond it. There is really nothing to find.

Again, all of this can easily be "false". For I can not prove that any type of human logic and therefore the "facts" that come of it are true.
