If you don't care about losing money, buy tons of steel bars and make steel plates, and then high alc them. You'll gain some profit, and a few smithing levels.
Nope, no profit. You should make bars, that's what I did. Mine coal in mining guild, superheat mithril ore that you bring in. Slow but no loss in cash.
-
It's not realy worth the effort, but granite is going to fall very, very soon if it hasn't yet, so get rid of it now, or it won't even be junk anymore.
-
Yeah, you do. \
-
No profit anymore :(
-
I think arrows are cheaper than making them.
-
Whats the cheapest/ fastest way to smith from 54-70?
-
Ok your numbers are way off
60k an hour mining iron ? you can get like 40k tops and thats near impossible still.
30-35k is a better estimate. I hear al-kharid is changed and rimmington is now best spot
super heating mithore is 30k smithing exp an hour and 53k maging. by far the most efficient method. very little loss
First of all, you have to use the zybez player guides method. Its a tad faster.
Second, I never said superheating mith ore. I said mining coal and superheating mith at the same time. Superheating mith loses money I think.
-
Check longsword controlled. I think it's almost as fast as scimmy, maybe it has a higher stab. I've never actualy checked though.
-
You're better off training each skill one at a time. I tried lunge once. Not worth it.

Power mining iron at al kharid, 60k xp per hour. Never done it but hear it's the best way. Coal is 15k xp per hour (for me) but I'm typing on this forum while I mine.
If you are high enough to smelt mithril, you can buy 22 mith ores, a fire staff, and 22 nats, and mine 4 ore, superheat a bar, and just keep doing that. Then if you like that method you can buy more ore and nats. I buy 1.5k addy at a time, but then again I'm crazy.
That's 4k mage, 15k mining, 2.8k smithing per hour, not that good of xp (again, I look at the forum while mining), but you make some money as well (50k per hour?) instead of loosing a fortune.
-
The good way to raise mining: go to al kharid and mine/drop iron. I've never done it but I hear there's a 60k xp per hour way.
I get 15k xp per hour mining coal, but it's acceptable money in f2p.
As a member, I would try the dwarven gold mine thingy with the gold helm and the 100+ veins of gold. With a ring of charos of course.
-
I would prefer sgs, but in gwd, maybe not the best choice.
-
I did have a notion to mine till 85. I got bored within around 47 minutes.
I know that coal to 85 will net me quite a few million, but I find it so boring.
If I did have no cash, I would be motivated to do it though. :?
Trust me, getting 85 from caol is not fun... I have 520 addy bars to go and I keep putting it off. Mined less than 500 coal this week (used to do 10s of ks in a row)
Woodcutting and hunting are good money skills. And no, I would not waste money on a skill. Get more money, merch it, get more etc, then when you have a couple hundred mil, spend it a bit at a time ;)
-
you can do ranarrs and EARN money.
-
Best money is Airs at higher rc levels banking at falador and using Explorer Ring to get to the altar.
Only if you reach about lvl 55 or 66 now beacause of air runes pprices going down
Or any members' rune. Chaos is nice after the quest.
GET MEMBERS.

I would have them mine pure essense to start
takes 30 mining I think
Hmm, that's it? Well, I am unsatisfied. I'm getting off work in an hour. And signing them up as soon as I get home (while I try to hide and play the game in peace).Sorry guys... :?
Pick flax maybe?
Crap clicked quote instead of edit...

Go pure essence mining! or runecraft...

An estimate on time taken using both methods?
Are you planning on using gilded altar for prayer training? Is that why you ask?
If so:
I used my house for that, but I used duel rings for tele to cw bank then home tabs. Then I had a friend who did some boring high alchs anyway to stay in my house with marrentils and tinderbox and lit the burners while i teled back and forth between bank and house.
Ye, that was the idea. Was curious to see how long it would take to get 1-99 prayer using gilder altar and dragon bones.
edit: off-topic, but is combat level floored (rounded down)
I think so, yes.

Saradomin  .

My income atm is monster drops and stuff like that.Don't spent money unless you have a reliable source of income already!First make sure you get some decent money maker (ranged-aviansees-, melee combat-bosses-, runecrafting -91+-, fishing -sharks-, wc -cursed magics-) before going to spent money on drains like magic, construction summoning etc..
But if you really insist: the only "good" ways to train magic are actually non combat magic: other monsters are much easier to fight and in the speed gain you get you can get more xp by high alching!
I want to do combat magic because I wanna have a chance of gaining something.
Yeah, again, I wouldn't recomend doing a money-wasting skill unless you have a money skill to back it up. In p2p I would recomend wc or fishing.

I say add merchanting calcs!
Like for buying pieces of armor/godswords and comparing that to the value of a set or the godsword, or anchoivies and plain pizzas to anchoivy pizzas... Possibilities are limitless. Maybe add ge prices to the old iron/steel plate smithing calc that no one uses anymore.
-
Pray and summoning is easy to level if u have stuff.
Do what i did and put it on runecrafting, the most boring skill in the game
Oooh bad move. Definantly summoning though. I lost membership less than a week after it came out, but I can see why it would be hard to raise.

Hmm I didn't see mining mentioned.
Runners in Fist of Guthix
in Rants
Posted
Topic's a bit old, but I just have to add, ALWAYS run, and ALWAYS go to the center after 30 seconds. Once they know you're a runner, they never look for you there, and you get faster charges/run energy there.
