where in dk do i trade them in(in relation to the bank? south of the bank? north of the bank?)

Usually bones are sold jsut west of the bank, near entrance, in low worlds, such as 1 - 4

You sell them to I think Balvor(that, or I'm thinking of the book Eldest :P , but I do know that his name starts with a B) or whatever, I'm not sure of his name.
