March 29, 200719 yr I have been struggling with ways to make money, but I have recently decided that I am going to woodcut. For the 6m GP I need, I need to cut around 20k Yews or 6k Magics. Cutting the yews should get me to level 89, and cutting the magics will get me to level 84. (All hail Tip.It Skill Planners :). Which logs would be quicker to cut for my 6m cash goal?
March 29, 200719 yr Author And also, when I reach the halfway mark, should I: Buy a Dragon Axe, cut the remaining logs I need to cut, and then sell the Dragon axe?
March 29, 200719 yr yew for sure.. magic is way hard to cut Hey Nicrune007 , Whats Your Username? 99 Ranged on 2/6/07 99 Hit Points on 9/5/08 99 Defense on 26/4/08 99 Attack on 14/2/09 99 Strength on 25/2/09 99 Slayer on 13/9/09\:D/
March 29, 200719 yr Author Thanks, i'll wait for a few more replies though just to see what other people think. Bear in mind that this is 20k yews VS 6k magics. EDIT: <<<<< Chicken Feather?

I was supposed to be saying "Are they worth buying?". Instead I just sounded like someone with no common sense :.
March 29, 200719 yr I'd say cut yews, they will be a little faster than magics. As for the Dragon Axe, I'd say you might as well buy it at half way. But if you think you'll be trying to get 99 wcing (or using wcing to make more lots of maney again) in the semi-near future, I'd say keep it. It's a worthy investment if you are going to do a lot of wcing. If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.[hide=My Stats][/hide]
March 29, 200719 yr Author Thanks for the advice. I think it's gonna be yews for me then :D. Any suggestions of where to cut the yews? I've heard that the Gnome Stronghold is pretty good. And should I also fletch them into Yew Long (u)'s so I can reach my goal of 99 fletching?

If selling then leave them as logs. If alching them, make them into yew longs and you'll cut less than the 20k. But you'll need to buy the nats so that might save too much time. March 29, 200719 yr I would cut about 15k logs, trade some of them for bowstrings, then make 10k bows and sell them for 600 ea.
March 29, 200719 yr Author That sounds like quite a good idea. Although it will get me XP for two skills, it is also more time consuming as I have to cut 15k logs, fletch 10k into bows, then string the bows. I am very proud of my 2k-per-hour stringing abilities, but the sooner I obtain the GP, the better. I'm not being lazy about the whole process of stringing and fletching the bows, as I know some people are, and I would really like the fletching XP, but the quicker I get back my items, the better, and then maybe I can really focus on my goal of 99 fletching.
March 29, 200719 yr Actualy you can get XP in 3 skills and make some money if you bring 1 Fire staff and Nature runes. Yew longbow(u) high-alchemy for 384 coins. Nature runes can be bougth easy for 300~350 each. p.s.: Don't high-alchemy your Dragon axe :wall:

Just trade your yew logs for yew long (u) and string them. I think you can string 2-3k bows and hour, but I doubt you can cut that many yews in an hour.

I am going for money, although the exp in magic would be nice too, as I am currently only level 71, and am aiming for level 85 :(. I will try the fletching/stringing method as it sounds the most efficient so far. To LJoker: I'll try not to high alch my Dragon Axe :D. I'm usually very careful about what I Alch, but I'll keep it in the bank anyway just to make sure I don't waste 3.2m :D. Thanks to everybody for the replies so far, you've all been great.
