Well, I havn't played runescape for a long while and I kinda miss the whole online community thing, but would like a better, friendlier community without a money-hungry corporation in charge.

They don't necessarily have to be browser-based, I'm not asking for a clone of runescape, I just want to know what else is out there with a community aspect.

I've heard Star Trek Online and Lord of the Rings Online are comming, as well as a Firefly game coming in a year or so.

Any recomendations? (and btw, not WoW or runescape)

So you are looking for a smaller developer for an MMO? Not sure why but w/e. Only two good "indie" par-say MMO's I can think of are EvE Online and Ryzom.

There isn't a whole lot to choose from right now, I'd wait a few months.

lotr online seems cool. stargate worlds is coming 4th quater i think. if you want to play games that are already out, you should try maplestory and use hacks.

I don't play any other MMPORGs but Star Trek Online?... I'd be sooooo into that.

Firefly too, but I wonder how popular that'd be.
