It's in the obstacle arena. Does this mean I have do duel people until I get in the correct arena, and then go digging?

Ask somebody to duel with "Obstacles: On", so you can do your clue. then go to the correct place, and dig.

Yea, just go tot he duel arena and look for some higher levels. They know about the coordinate, usually. And ask them if they will duel you so you can get to it. Offer up some cash as the "prize" for the duel, then after you've dug it up just let them kill you and collect their payment.
