Aneron
Well, in a topic awhile ago, Leesters said that black salamanders were awesome for barrows. I got a hold of one, and it didn't impress me terribly much. It doesn't have range, so you can't safespot your tunnel brother if he is melee. It's 2handed, so you can't wear a shield against verac. Finally, I accidentally left it on range attack and wasted 20 shots or so against guthan  Does anybody who uses it have any useful pointers? Ethiery
Actually you can safe spot with a salamander, I've tried it, it works very well actually, but requires ancient magicks or entangle, but that's just a pain with the second. With the brother infront of you, freeze with your best freeze spell, now, take 1 step to the left, or the right, so you're at an angle to the brother. This, will keep him from hitting due to the angles, but the salamander will still be able to fire. :) A man who doesn't read, is no smarter than a man who can't read. mbrun
I use the black salamander over the slayer dart whenever i can. I get harralanders from my kingdom and get the tar from the ship that takes u to the moonclan island (Lunar Diplomacy quest). For Dharok and Karil, I put black dhide on and use Mage attack with sally. For Ahrim next, I just switch to range attack. Then for the rest of the melee brothers I put on my Guthans armour (or fighter torso/rune legs). I only end up changing the spell over twice. The salamander hits 20s which dart users cant compete with. And it is dirt cheap to use. I can get 600+ tars an hour from the ship's tar barrels. I safe spot also using slayer dart. Usually end up using 15 deaths for that. Since I usually have ton of food left If I dont have Karil or Ahrim in tunnels. The only people I find that dont like the sally, didnt use the right attack type for it. Barrows Drops: Guthan's platelegs and War Spear, Dharok's plate body and Great Axe, Verac's Flail, Verac's Helm x 2, Ahrim's top, Dharok's plate legs Dragon Drops: Medium Helm x 4, Shield Left Half, plate legs x 2, skirt x 2. You are forced to pray due to the fact that you can't just hide behind a convenient piece of rubble or a ladder.
