DegenerateX
I'm thinking of buying a ranger set. I know the price doesn't justify the bonus' as there are much cheaper alternative however I like the look so lets just forget that aspect. Due to a recent rumour about robin hood hats becoming discontinued merchant bought up a lot of the robin hood hats looking to make a huge profit when they became discontinued and raise in price. As ranger boots were directly related to the robin hood hat they shot up as well. However Jagex denied this rumour stating that they had no intention of making them discontinued anywhere in the near future. People unaware of the rumour at all just viewed this as a price inflation of robin hood hats and continued buying them from the merchants who now wanted to get rid of their stockpiles. However they didn't want to lose money, in fact they saw they could still make it as they owned the majority of the hats that were in exchange (as in ppl who trade them a lot not who keep them in bank forever). They still sold them strong for a while at 4.9 and since then it has leveled of at 4.5 (for the robin) and 6.7 for the set. I expected the price to gauge back to its origonal price but that seems to not be the case. I am asking whether you believe the robin hood hat will decrease in price over time to the befor-hand price (3.6-3.8) or whether you think this new price standard will stick. I'm thinking of buying one but do not know if I should buy it now, and then have my item be worth less in a few months cause I bought it earlier. Or if price will be the same and I'll know I could have enjoyed having a robin for the past few months. marnuke
all prices of anything that is coming into the market will slowly decrease, most things decrease slower because the demand of most items is also steadly increasing, but some items the prices will drop, just like how the robins will be dropping withing the next couple of months you just never know when the price change will happen, but unless they become discontinued then the price will decrease. Barrows drops: ahrims staff (2), karils coif, karils xbow, torags plate body, veracs helm.
DegenerateX
To what extent we sadly can't predict. If only I knew if they would slowly revert to the old pricing or if this will become the new standard price in which I would be bummed that I could have gotten it so and so months ago for the same price but didn't. Freesia
The increase in robin sets is partially due to new tt rewards. With more tt rewards, there is now a lesser chance to get robin/ranger boots while demand remains constant, prices are expected to shoot up Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(. Jake_Corsair
And I think we can safely say, that anything that is currently able to be gotten in game, won't be discontinued. With the way Jagex feels about rares as it is, I can't see them "creating" more rares (hence non-tradeable holiday items). If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.[hide=My Stats][/hide]
