Impossible to one hit coal at any level.

 

This is my experience as a lv 86 miner.

Mining coal isnf worth it. If a dragon pickaxe could 1 hit coal in the 70s or 80s theyd be extremely valuable though. Im hoping to get a d pickaxe when/if it comes out and sell for an insane price =)
