WoW Sign up Problem.. wtf

Featured Replies

Okay guys, I finally decided to give WoW a try since its so popular.

So last night I downloaded the game client.. I go to set up a account.. and wudda ya know? They want a credit card.

No biggy.. they say its for verification only and you even don't have to go through this process to have a trial account. So, I enter my details only to be greeted with "error, please contact are billing support".

I check out my credit card homepage, and everything is fine.. except.. all I got on the card atm is 2 dollars. Are they not taking it because they want to verify I have 15$ so they can charge me at the end of the month? Nothing is wrong with my card, something is wrong with their systems!

Probably can't detect enough money on me :P

Anyways, does anyone know how I can get a account without the stupid credit card verification proccess that it claims I do not even need to do?

Are you trying to start the trial or an account.

if its the former make sure that you are starting a trial. If its the later you do need the money on your account.

Ahh that were must be the problem is.. I"m trying to start a Trial.. but i'm assuming its thinking i'm starting a real account.

Any help on where to go, so they know I am wanting to do the trial only?

Edit: I just found this on their site.

Our billing system is designed to require credit card information when setting up a guest-pass account. This has been done in order to make it as easy as possible for people to continue playing after their trial period has expired. Among other reasons, it is also in place to prevent customers from creating "throwaway" accounts to harass others and to show that this game will require an active subscription if you choose to continue. Please note that there will be no charges placed against the credit card and the account will expire automatically at the end of the 10 or 14 days, depending on the nature of your trial account. If you would like to continue past the trial period then refer to the information on this page for assistance in upgrading your account.

Now because they won't accept my card, then basically their saying I can't play.. and their claim of me not even having to do a verfication proccess is a lie. Sigh.. oh well.. No WoW 4 me then.

Sorry but they have a point. Whats the big deal about just putting $15 on your card anyways?

Because I don't have 15 dollars to put on the card. :P

Money tight atm.

Since it doesn't charge your credit card after the trial is up, is it possible for someone to set me up a account that I could try?
