Contact! advice needed

I and my weakling runescape account want to do Contact.

 

Given my mage, agility and theiving levels, do you think I have a chance?

Ok you will have no problems at all (I am weaker and did it with great ease :XD: )

 

 

 

This is assuming you do have 40 prayer for protect from range (Since you did not listed it).

 

 

 

First, read the tip.it quest guide about it.

 

The first time, take nothing, just in case you die while learning your way around(Maybe some food).

 

Just use a map of the area to navigate around the dungeon, disarming all traps and not going in front of any gold scarab on the walls.

 

 

 

At the point where you go the second time and must fight just bring your best mage equipment, stand behind the body and activate protect from range. You can now procede to mage it to death. When he summons more minions to help him you could just stay there (they aint scary) or run next to the pond to the right of the entrance, where nothing will be able to hit you.

 

 

 

For the fight you will only need : An ok number of runes, some food for traps you may fail. An anti-poison incase you get poisonned by the mages, and maybe a p-pot incase you perform poorly (happens to everybody) and need more time to kill the boss.

Can it be melee'd?

aoe, you're wrong in some parts:

 

 

 

First of all, there are 2 ways to kill the scarab and BOTH are plausible and almost equally effective.

 

 

 

If you plan on meleeing it, get on your best magic protection outfit (dragonhide), take with you your trusty ddp++ or whip or whatever, a few prayer pots, an antipoison and food. Remember this: when you are just running towards the scarab, switch on Magic Protect, as the scarab can hit you 1-2 times while you run. When you engage him in melee, switch immediately to melee protect. When he starts summoning servants, watch for which attack type they use - kill the ranger and the mage, don't bother with melee. Remember, they have only 20 hp and lousy defense! oh, adn one more thing, turn OFF auto retaliate! This is because you DON'T wanna go out of scarab's melee range chasing for one of it's servants after you eat or pot or whatever.

 

 

 

As for maging, it, I never tried, but I suggest you put on some magic robes, use protect from Magic, and kill the range servant at once (since you have awful range protect). Don't bother with melee if you have a safespot, or bother if you don't. Mage the scarab to death. I believe this method might have more control over the battle, as you don't run around like mad.
