Ape
Hey all. Righto, I've been having some problems. My computer's randomly restarting and I have no idea why. Everything in the machine is brand new APART from the RAM and Hard Drive. The RAM is DDR1, and the motherboard is DDR2, would that be the problem? Nothing is overheating (CPU is at 19* and System temp is at 24*). I've formatted, but that didn't work either. The only thing I haven't fiddled with is the RAM and the HDD. Spec, just incase you need it: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 SOCKET AM2 Nvidia C51 2x PCI-E 8 Channel audio Heatpipe ATX Chip: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Socket AM2 (2.2GHz) L2 1MB (2x512KB) Retail Boxed Processor GFX Card: XFX 7900GT 470MHz 256MB 256bit DDR3 PCI-E PSU: Hiper 580W (Don't know the model name). RAM: Old Kingston 2x 512mb DDR HDD: Seagate SATA 160gb 7200rpm. Thanks in advance to those who help. ALSO - The CSS tournament that I arranged for just after Christmas. Sorry about that, I had ALOT of work on my plate and the broken PC didn't help. Now I've finished school, I'll be playing alot more. New sig to come! Cruiser
The RAM is DDR1, and the motherboard is DDR2, would that be the problem? DDR1 is not compatible with DDR2 in both directions. If the machine isn't throwing a blue screen when it dies, you need to turn this on and right down the error it gives you. Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Click 'Settings' Under Startup & Recovery and make sure "Automatically restart" is not enabled. Next time it dies, post the error codes for us.
