After Bob Dylan̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s bootleg series, there now is another very interesting series out. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s by Neil Young (He can finally open those beautiful archives!), and it documents a series of Young̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s (previously unreleased) live performances and also unreleased studio tracks, from the period of 1963 to 1972. In total there̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s going to be 8 CD̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s. You can buy them separately, or wait till the end of the year and get ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâm in a box with all 8

So far there have been two Cd̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s released. Volume 2 is Live at the Fillmore East March 6 & 7, 1970 (Review) which is with Crazy Horse, electric only. And the superb Live at Massey Hall January 19, 1971 (Review) which is an acoustic performance (Young, all alone on stage!), incredibly intimate!

Personally, I couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t wait for the full release at the end of the year (And I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know if I want them all), but I got Vol. 2 and 3 already. My favourite̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s definitely the one from Massey Hall, although the other one is great too. Especially if you like those ultra long and rough guitar solo̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s which they are famous for! The 16 minute version of Cowgirl in the Sand is brilliant! And all of this in perfect audio! It really sounds fantastic, and it's such a compliment to Young's clear voice.

So, anybody else enthousiastic about this? So far I haven't seen anything about it here, but I can't imagine me being the only Neil Young fan on the forum. You can pick 'm up for not too much at CD-Pacific.

Tracks from the Live at Massey Hall and Live at the Fillmore concerts can be heard at Neil Young's My Space, which is just http://www.my space.com/neilyoung (remove the space, d'oh)! You don't want to miss them!

Looks pretty damn good, and I loved Dylans bootleg series. I'll probably wait if anything.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Yea, it's really good. Deff. worth getting. Where the Dylan bootleg series sometimes lack in sound quality a bit (although you can see it as the charm of the series as well) these are all perfect recordings!
