How2PK
So, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m sure you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve all heard of Tom Morello and his guitaringwork with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave. This revolutionary man is now going solo. Don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t expect anything heavy. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a simple set-up; he picked up an acoustic guitar, grabbed himself a harmonica and wrote some protest songs. The album is out now for a couple of weeks, and I must say I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m quite impressed. Sure, his vocals aren̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t the best thing around (and then I put it nicely), but the message comes trough quite well. If you want to place him somewhere, you could best compare it with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and his vocals have got a Nick Cave-like sound. But then less good. So far One Man Revolution, The Road I must Travel Flesh Shapes the Day, Battle Hyms and Maximum Firepower are favorites. And what Tom thinks of himself: Morello desribes The Nigh[bleep]chman as "the black Robin Hood of 21st century music" and "a reaction against illicit wars, a reaction against first strikes, torture, secret prisons, spying illegally on American citizens. It's a reaction against war crimes, and it's a reaction against a few corporations that grow rich [off] this illicit war while people beg for food in the city streets."At the moment, The Nigh[bleep]chman is taking priority over Morello's two rock bands, Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine, saying "To me, it seems that the world needs songs of rebellion and revolution right now. It's exciting." He has compared The Nigh[bleep]chman to Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. Satenza
Listened to the songs avaliable on his my space. He was pretty good, his voice wasn't amazing and he doesn't have the same poetic brilliance as Dylan, yet. Reminded me of Johnny Cash in his lyric style. But i liked The Road I Must Travel the best. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
