im at lvl 27 rnge now and im f2p

 

i want to get to lvl 80 bye ranging hillies over time

 

i figured out i need roughly 14000 hillies to do this

 

how many iron arrows will i need im thinking around 40k but im not sure

 

ty for the tips

 

also should i pick up the bones and sell em for money so i willl be rich or should i just go for exp

 

just tell what u would do and why u would do it

I'd go for some monster that doesn't drop

 

anything good and are easy to kill.

 

I suggest to use bronze arrows, not picking them up.

 

Otherwise you will take ages and probably

 

die of boredom..

Bronze: about 113600 if you don't pick up, 28400 if you do pick up.

 

Iron: about 112000 if you don't pick up, 28000 if you do pick up.

Well, there are other ways of earning money (mining, smithing, yew cutting)

 

but there's only 1 best way to raise F2P prayer...

 

 

 

IMHO, gather the bones and use them on yourself,

 

Protection is very nice to have.

Range or Prayer?

 

 

 

Hill giants can be very crowded so training there could be a problem.

 

Moss giants are popular but, ultimately, they can be overcrowded as well.

 

 

 

There are many places to train range. The trick is to stand outside

 

their walk area so they can't reach you.

 

Or, have an obstacle between you and them (table, chair, fence, screen, wall, etc)

 

 

 

I always liked ranging on Crandor island.

 

The Mossies and Lessers are nice targets.

 

But at your level, you could try the Minotaurs in the SoS.

 

They drop a lot of arrows so you don't have to buy as many.

 

 

 

Also, pick up your arrows. You will get about 4 times as many shots out of them that way.

I'm not sure I understand why you think that stopping to pick up arrows

 

when shooting Hill Giants will give you less exp.

 

The respawn time for Hill Giants is long enough for you to be able to get

 

your arrows, loot, and bones before the next one spawns.

 

 

 

If you pull the Giant over to you with a Curse spell first,

 

then all of the "goodies" will be in a single pile when it dies.

 

You did know about the Curse pulling trick, didn't you?

 

 

 

Actually, you will probably have trouble getting enough Hill giants at all

 

dur to over crowded hunting conditions.

 

 

 

Now, if you hunt guards or hobgoblins, then, yes, you would be slowed

 

down a little to gather arrows, loot, and bones.

 

But for me, the 4x arrow reuse factor would save me a lot of money.

 

 

 

Consider this:

 

28000 Iron arrows will get you from level 27 to level 64 if you do not pick up.

 

But, it will get you from level 27 to level 80 if you do pick up.

 

That's basically 16 cost free levels if you use the Curse pulling trick and pick up your arrows.

Well, if you want money then definately pick up the bones.

 

The respawn time is longer than it takes to get the bones.

 

Especially if you use the Curse pulling trick.

 

 

 

In F2P, big bones are located:

 

HG in Edgeville dungeon, HG in wildy, MG in Varrock sewer, MG in wildy,

 

MG on Crandor Island, IG in blurite mine, IG in NW wildy, and central east wildy respawn.

 

 

 

The biggest limiting factor is probably going to be overhunting by other players.

 

So, you may have to look around a lot to find the best place at the best time.

 

Keep in mind that any "best place" for you is going to be the "best place"

 

for everyone else also. Hence, everyone will go to that "best place"

 

and (probably) make it "not the best place" anymore, lol

 

 

 

Bottom line, try the above spots. Especially the wildy BB respawn place.

 

An alternative to making money with BBs is to get your mining to 70

 

and mine/sell addy ore at 1k/each.

 

 

 

Otherwise, if you just want to raise Ranging, then hunt minotaurs in the SoS.
