What is the farming requirement for? Could i just boast my farming with cider to get past the part its required for?

You are supposed to plant something (can't remember what it is #-o ) in the remaining patch, I suppose cider should work like it works for normal farming scenerios

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

There is a pie that boosts farming too, but I'm not sure if it's better than cider or not. You should be able to use buffs to complete the quest, although if you're close to that level 1 or 2 more shouldn't be that much trouble. Just a tree or two. (or 1 tears of guthix)

The pie you are talking about should be garden pie. It +3 farming compared to cider which only +2
