June 5, 200719 yr Do you gain full exp for both when you superheat or do you only gain magic xp? Then again if I only gain magic xp do I still have to have smithing level to smelt higher level ores?
June 5, 200719 yr You only gain magic exp, but I think you can do any bars, regardless of smithing level. Empires rise and fall, and heros are born and they die. This is the way of life, but Legends are born, they live, but they never die.
June 5, 200719 yr Author Just tried to superheating iron while only having 12 smithing. Got a message stating I had to have 15 smithing to smelt iron. The way it is it seems I should get smithing exp for superheating if it requires me to have the levels anyway.

June 5, 200719 yr you do get both magic and smithing XP for superheating! And yes you must have the required smithing level, to be able to smelt whether by conventional means or superheat

June 5, 200719 yr I used this to train my magic. I took my trusty pickaxe in my hands and got 24 iron ore. A fire staff, nature runes. And just mined coal. Then I superheated. You make a profit, 200ea bar. So you ''sell'' your coal for about 100ea. But you get the magic exp with it.. Yes, you get smith exp.
