installing ram

Featured Replies

well I recently installed 512mb of ram in my pc, it looks like it is fit correctly as it is parrallel with my other stick however I don't think it has installed properly.

1.) How do I find out if the RAM has been installed? I have windows XP

2.) What could I have done wrong?

any help appreciated- I believe I handled it correctly and yes it is compatible for my computer.

well to make sure its working right click on computer and go to properties

if the number has changed from what it was before to something new now then its in and working

if you didnt put it in right the comp most likely wouldnt have booted

ok well i did some tweaking and it now recognises to this can be locked :)

I always go to Control Panel under Start. Double-click System, let it load, and look under "Computer:" for the info. RAM should be displayed there.
