Indeed, I'm back. And most of you want more; so I'll give you more. Two days till school starts, plus I have tonight--I'm getting chinese, then I'll eat, then BAM! New chapters.

Chapter 9: Sin

 

 

 

Ren was quick to defend, jumping back and crossing his forearms to shield himself. However, the man in red did not enter any battle position. Instead, he laughed, then stabbed the sword's blade into the hard ground. From the stab the blade emitted a quake, cracking the ground for some distance. Now, the man walked towards Ren, his red eyes shining with envy, power, and friendliness. All very strange attributes together, and yet Ren let his guard down. The man then stopped. Now, both had serious looks upon their faces; and both were ready to speak.

 

 

 

"Who are you?" Ren was the first to respond. Yet the man chose not to answer at all. "Why did you take my blade? I...I..."

 

 

 

Suddenly, Ren's head began to pound with a pain, a pain that felt like the fury of a thousand sun's fire. He fell to his knees, then screamed...Then all went light, then swiftly a disturbing darkness, and last he fell to the stone ground.

 

 

 

Ren did not understand anything of what had just happened. He opened his eyes, his head still pounding with an occasional sharp pain. But he ignored the pain, as he saw his hand; not shrouded in the darkness, but his regular skin.

 

 

 

"Then it is true," the man began, "it is true that darkness shrouds the holder of the Advent blade...As it does the other bearers of the other two blades...Yes..."

 

 

 

The man extended an arm out for Ren, whom was now experiencing a burning sensation in his arms and legs. But he still gripped his hand to the man's arm, who lifted him up easily. Ren could barely stand, his legs numb completely.

 

 

 

"What...Is going on?" Ren asked angrily.

 

 

 

"This is unimportant, you are weary from your...Transformation..."

 

 

 

"No!" Ren pushed the man away, then jumped back and tore the blade out of the ground.

 

 

 

"If you think you can simply take your blade and defeat me, then you are mistaken."

 

 

 

The man took out a dagger, clutching it's handle tightly, extending his other arm to jester Ren into battle. Recklessly, he ran to Vincent, swinging his blade with a rapid and steady movement, however the man simply parried every strike with his dagger, sparks flying from every strike. Then, almost in a blink of an eye, Ren kicked the man into a wall. In another blink of an eye, Ren was holding his blade to the man's exposed throat.

 

 

 

"Excellent..." Said the man, grinning from ear to ear.

 

 

 

"Why...Why...Why! Answer me! Why did you take my sword? Why and how did I come here? Why?"

 

 

 

"We aren't finished with the fight yet..."

 

 

 

Ren was angered at this reply. Gripping the handle of his blade with both hands, he smashed the man's face with the butt of his blade, then stabbed the man, through his heart. The man's only reaction to this was gripping the blade, then he collapsed, the blade sliding out of his body as he fell.

 

 

 

Ren turned away, but instantly fell back when the man was standing before him, laughing grimly.

 

 

 

"Come now," said he, "do you really think you can kill a vampire?"

 

 

 

Ren's heart was beating, harder, harder, harder...Faster, faster, faster. The shock he felt seeing the man...Alive and before his eyes, breathing in a slow and steady rate...Laughing. But, the man still extended friendly hand for Ren to grasp. As soon as Ren was standing, the man reverted back to seriousness, his face stiffening, clearing his throat, and walking from Ren.

 

 

 

"I am happy to find you. I am never happy for a man to stab me, as the last person who did that to me got his neck torn apart and his blood trained completely from his body. And I'm laughing! I guess I'm jovial to finally be able to protect the one who wields the Advent blade."

 

 

 

Ren understood nothing still. "What blade do you speak of? The blade of Agiciite?"

 

 

 

"Yes...Of course, you know nothing of this, and I will speak no more of it. With all past and rude introductions, I must apologize and introduce myself. My name is Vincent Corrynth, and I was sent to protect you...To be your guardian. Truly, I am sent here to protect the wielder of the Advent blade, undoubtedly you.

 

 

 

"Listen to me. There has been much going on for you, and you probably do not comprehend any of it. You became a powerful being. You...Have been pondering what has been going on. Yes, I understand...I know you cannot remember anything of your past...It's shrouded by a dark veil, relentlessly taunting you until your anger reaches it's maximum level...And the only thing you can remember is you are part of the Unedain..."

 

 

 

"How do you know this?"

 

 

 

"I know because I was sent to guard you since! Yes, when you were the only escapee after raging war on Seid...I was sent to protect you."

 

 

 

"By whom?"

 

 

 

Vincent stopped, narrowing his eyes downward. "His name...He did not say...But this is not the point! The point is you are in danger, and I must escort you out of here!"

 

 

 

"What if I refuse to come?"

 

 

 

"If you refuse, I will have to improvise...By smashing your well being into darkness. Or, to put it simply," Vincent clenched his fists, "You'll become unconsious."

 

 

 

Ren knew well enough not to fight. He was tired, and he was willing to get out of this dark citadel. "Okay...Vincent. Help me..."

 

 

 

He instantly stopped when he saw Vincent's face grow stiffer yet, as if he sensed something. Swiftly, he pushed Ren out of the way, then tore out his own blade.

 

 

 

"Dammit...Ren, you are aware of the Curiji?"

 

 

 

"The first Unedain...The one before my Unedain...The cursed one's...Yes..."

 

 

 

"You are obviously aware of what they are alive to do..."

 

 

 

"Kill me."

 

 

 

"To put it bluntly...Yes. You and only you, as the rest of your Unedain were executed, as you know...But we must try to escape...Now!"

 

 

 

Ren took his sword and withdrew it, following Vincent closely. But he knew they were both in grave danger, as the door they were headed to smashed apart, then blew open, smashing Vincent away, Ren barely dodging the rubble. Ahead, there stood a sinister man, dressed in black, silver hair extending to his back. Ren could see his eyes; they were like black holes, as there were no pupils...No color...Only black. But the man drew closer yet, holding a double bladed katana, two blades extending from the two sides of the sword, so there was no butt or hilt. The katana emitted a strange deathly...Glow. Ren instantly looked at the blades, pure black and sinister, indeed, glowing of a dark fury...

 

 

 

Ren...Ren...Ren...

 

 

 

Ren heard the strange echo he heard when he had the vision of the city in pandemonium, each time the name was said his body stung more and more...

 

 

 

Ren...Ren...

 

 

 

Stop... Ren grew angered.

 

 

 

Ren...Ren...Ren...

 

 

 

No...No...

 

 

 

Ren...Ren!

 

 

 

"Stop!"

 

 

 

Ren arose, fury engulfing the very depths of his soul. Instantly, he clashed blades with the intruder, swinging his blade with an unbelievable speed, right, left, right, left. Yet, the man had not trouble keeping up with Ren, but was astounded by his speed. Next, Ren jumped into the air, and smashed blades with the man, each smash he would push hard, this way he would be airborne and he could strike again, with hopes to smash the katana. The man twirled his blade once, forcing Ren to stab his blade into a wall for safety. But safety is the wrong word, as the man speedily grabbed Ren's bare throat and threw him into another wall. Falling onto the ground, Ren clenched his bare fist, and arose, barely dodging another swing of the man's katana. With a chance to strike, Ren swung his blade in a spin, but it was parried by the man's blade again.

 

 

 

With the parry, Ren was thrown into the ground, pulverizing it with immense power. Now Ren was angered worse. He jumped up, now siftly entering the battle with a jump, doing a barrel roll in mid-air, then unleashing a sword spin again, this time successfully slicing the man's bare neck. Landing gracefully, Ren awaited to hear the fall of his opponent. But instead, he heard the man talk.

 

 

 

"Interesting," he began, "you fight with immense power...And the blade is not responsible..." He laughed. "You are very special...No other Unedain was able to reach this power. Well, besides me."

 

 

 

The man swiftly turned and grabbed Ren's neck, then threw him into the ground. Ren turned to arise, but one of the katana blades was at his neck.

 

 

 

"It is unfortunate you must die..."

 

 

 

The man held the sword in a slicing position, and Ren could clearly see the man's neck, which was mended. But he refused to give up. The man launched his sword, but Ren flipped back, and the man sliced the ground instead. A scowl was heard from him, as Ren jumped up again, barely dodging another sword blow, this time landing on his feet.

 

 

 

"I thought I would not have to launch one of my strongest sword teqniques..."

 

 

 

The man began mouthing an incantation, which became word of mouth:

 

 

 

"Gdrmulow Hozhs!"

 

 

 

It was in a language unknown to Ren, but he prepared. But the man proved too strong, too quick, as he, in a blink of an eye, went from his side of standing to Ren's back, and Ren experienced ten slashes at once, then twenty, and it kept rising, blood gushing everywhere. He helplessly dropped his blade, and finally, after one hundred straight blows, he fell, blood gushing from his slashed torso, his breathing faster than ever, his heart falling...And the man grinned in a sinister way, then laughed at the mangled body.

 

 

 

"You survived the Twinfold Slash teqnique...I commend you...It wasn't my most powerful Shinnigui, but you are the first to survive..." He began walking from Ren, still laughing. "You survived...You have no memory, and you have many sins in your life...But you just faced the ultimate sin: Me. And just for that, I'll let you suffer until your death. It was inevitable, and we finally wiped you out...Now drift towards the light...Or the darkness...Either way, you're dead."

 

 

 

Ren watched as the man raised his hand, disappearing from sight. And Ren drifted towards neither light or darkness...Instead, he imagined something else...An amber color flashed before him, and he drifted towards it.

 

 

 

While he drifted away, he heard agonizing screams and anger. But he ignored them, and drifted off.

What pictures do you speak of...The...Banners? Zack from graphics to the max made them...If that's not what you speak...Then I don't know.

Very nice work. It's rather 'Final-fantasy Emoish', but I still like it a lot.

 

It is a bit confusing at parts though, however you seem to take pride in this..

It's being remade, the entire thing was nearly altered besides my characters. So be patient. It'll have it's own..."Feel" and will be less confusing...Maybe. The confusion is essential to put together loss ends in the future...

 

 

 

I don't think your kittens are annoying...It just gets old and then annoying...Keep saying it if you feel though.
