Ithords
I've recently done some light research on all the different types of melee weapons Runescape(2) has to offer. I was looking at Tip.It's combat guide on what they would think was the better weapon one day and I was surprised. The guide to weapons was fairly vague which I thought was uncommon for the website. Browsing the forum here and many other websites I noticed they all just said the same thing: Daggers do low damage but attack fast. Short Swords do low damage but attack fast. Scimitars do moderate damage but attack fast. ...and so on. I thought that someone should have calculated out each weapons exact speed by now, but I found nothing. If anyone knows of a guide or something that has done all of the research on this before and they could link it that would really help me out. Also I'd like to know how much strength on a weapon turns to a maximum hit point. Playing around with the maximum hit calculator I'm guessing its ~10 strength = +1 maximum hit. I'd like to know how much +attack on weapons helps too. I've done nothing to figure that out. Based on personal experiences however I'd say that each point of attack is about .5% to hit. If I can get all of this information compiled accurately and correctly I might make something similar to this for each weapon: This picture is just using all of the guesses I said before. None of it is an actual proven formula of conversion ...yet.
Tim
My you've some thought into it, i usually think that the knowledge base would provide all but the level bonus incl speed bars. well good luck. Popoto.~<
wassuploe
just look at the knowledge base on the runescape website... shows the exact attack speed of each weapon... F2P
Ithords
Well, if I really put thought into this i can actually show you the differences in weapons to get an accurate picture of the ultimate weapon, or just even whats better than what. :D I'll use an example. This now shows how much damage the scimitar will do each second on average. Likewise this shows the battleaxe's DPS now. DPS was calculated with [damage] / [speed] = (DPS) Looking at the red text at the bottom we see that the battleaxe is slightly better than the scimitar using my *cough* made up *cough* formula of damage calculation and my own guess at speed using a stop watch. Getting a speed on a weapon wont be that hard. Just a matter of proper timing between hits, but if I can save time I'm still looking for anyone else who has determined the strength to max hit formula. If no one can provide a link I'll try and research it myself. Keep in mind though that this is a game and there is no way I'm willing to spend hours trying to crack Runescape's max hit calculator without proper motivation. Ithords
just look at the knowledge base on the runescape website... shows the exact attack speed of each weapon... True, but their system of showing speed is the same as everyone else's. 3 bars = slowest 4 bars = slow 5 bars = moderate 6 bars = fast 7 bars = fastest They just use colorful images to look professional rather than Tip.It's spreadsheet format. What I'm looking for is an integer value for speed. Currently this is what I have: Dagger - Speed: ~2.50 (fast) Mace - Speed: ~3.00 (moderate) Sword - Speed: ~2.50 (fast) Longsword - Speed: ~3.00 (moderate) Scimitar - Speed: ~2.50 (fast) Battleaxe - Speed: ~3.60 (slow) 2h Sword - Speed: ~4.50 (slowest) I can test more weapons later and get a better average since honestly I expected (slow) = 3.50 just going by the pattern. l0rdbarney
that wouldnt work cuz it differs for every monster, u wanna have stats for each weapon and compared to every monster in the game?.. and when it says "fast", it is 1 speed, meaning the scimmy's "fast" is the same speed as the dagger's "fast", so scimmy would obviously be the better weapon pure:demon_x_king
Ithords
that wouldnt work cuz it differs for every monster, u wanna have stats for each weapon and compared to every monster in the game?.. I wasn't aware that each monster decreased the speed of your weapon... and even though higher level monsters seem to be more evasive or stronger all around this is a comparison of each weapon's attack and speed values which are unchanging even if the creature is. Each weapon will have its set values and those are what I'll use to calculate damage. and when it says "fast", it is 1 speed, meaning the scimmy's "fast" is the same speed as the dagger's "fast", so scimmy would obviously be the better weapon And that I already knew, I don't know if I just used terrible wording or you can't read. hatebringer
well, to my knowledge, there is no known exact second rate between each weapon's attack, but the DPS would be off, some people could hit constant 20s, and would be well over the DPS you have (maybe i misread something about it, but the way i see it, its wrong 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer
