Ok, I know this will get locked, but this has been bugging me for some time now and I don't think theres any better place to ask this.

 

 

 

The random picture thread was locked because the pictures were too random? What the hell is up with that? #-o

 

 

 

Sure it was spammy, but what do you expect after naming it '*RANDOM* picture thread'?

 

 

 

The memes and Online comics were to be expected, I mean come on people, what else do you think about when you hear the words 'random pictures'? They practically scream random, what is the big deal?

 

 

 

If you didn't want it to be spammy or you wanted the pictures to fit into a certain criteria you should have named it something else, or not made it in the first place.

 

 

 

Can someone explain to me the logic behind this? because I'm not seeing it at all.

Well... The thread was already locked before the last one because of inappropriate pictures (ie heavy swearing, etc). We let that go as a warning, but stressed on the next thread that we didn't want to deal with cleaning every other post for the same reasons. The thread began to get out of hand again, with pointless pictures that weren't even funny (actually they weren't even pictures)/inappropriate pictures again. We gave a final warning, but users still decided that they needed to post inappropriate things.

I used to enjoy reading that sticky before it got so out of hand. I miss it, but it got real spammy, so I see why they got rid of it.

I know, I loved the pictures, except for the bloody ones, but the funny ones.

Yes, people began to spam/flame each other in that thread because they kept posting the same pictures/comics over and over again. After numerous warnings, people began posting downright inappropriate pictures that wouldn't be allowed anywhere on the site.
