why cant i update my profile...?

 

 

 

i wanna change my sig but i go to update it, then it doesnt update...

 

can anyone explain what is wrong?

 

 

 

edit: now my sig is gone... i did delete the info, but if i go back to try to change it again it displays the old info

First off, this should be in Forum Discussion. Website discussion is for the main tip.it site.

 

 

 

As for your query, either you don't have cookies enabled (although I don't see how this would do anything, it's still an option), you aren't hitting "Save Profile" at the bottom of the page, or your signature is either too long (255 characters displayed), too large (30kb or less, 450x175 or smaller) or has too many lines (5 or less).

edit: why is my sig not even in my above post... and why does my profile say the aformentioned old info, but with the different sig (bottom one was different... fixed now for some reason... im really confused)

Could you possibly provide us with the content that you are trying to update your signature with? And what happens when you press submit? (like does an error come up or anything?)

Hmm well now your signature is showing up for me with the one that you wanted to change it to (along with another image). Perhaps it was just a temporary glitch in the system?

dunno, but i've noticed i keep having to refresh pages to make stuff take effect... is this supposed to happen?

Yes, in order to see the changes you've made, you must refresh the page :)

i just left this page to go refresh the main forums index page to see what happens, i come back to this and it for 1. changed back to the default wallpaper skin thing (white) instead of the blacksoul thing...

 

and 2. didnt display i think the last post i made on this...

 

 

 

k the skin problem is fixed... but the last message posted isnt displayed when i come back into this, for example a few minutes ago your last one wasnt when i came to post this, and after i left and came back, this wasnt displayed... if this is supposed to happen... then wow, that's just weird

i type it, select the view message option afterwards, then i see my message, but if i leave and come back, it isnt displayed till i refresh it, when i had seen it clear as day 2 seconds earlier

Well that is not normal forum behavior as best I know. It's probably a technical problem on your end :?
