Monkfish Question

This is just a quick question i've been trying to find an answer to for a little while, if there is an answer at all.

 

 

 

Basically i've noticed in screenshots and guides that most high level players always take monkfish when hunting/training etc. more so than sharks. I've been looking at the stats for both types of fish and can see 2 or 3 differences. Monkfish are said to be faster to catch and better exp, however sharks heal a lot more, so why don't higher level players take sharks over monkfish? Or are they just using up all the monkfish they've caught training fishing?

Faster to catch, easier to cook, 4 less health healed, cheaper to buy. It is just training, so I do not need the best food to train with. I only use sharks for pking because the wild is the only place where I would need to use maximum health healing.

16 hp 300 gp per monkfish

 

20 hp 1000 gp per shark

 

 

 

monkfish is surely the better choice even though you have to bank more often

hey man i have 83 fish and have fished many of sharks but when i did swan song and fish monks i got like 2k in 2 days thats 1k a day u prolly already knew that but sharks take awhile like 3 days for me becuz i dont play all day and with monks healing 16 ea for a much lwoer price and much lower lvl to fish and cook more ppl use it as training food. but if u have 76 fishing and 80 cooking go for it a get ur own sharks but if ur buyign go with monks all the way. u only really need sharks for pking or unless u crazy and train on blk drags or something

Another reason is that monkfish give more fishing experience than shark.

 

 

 

So if you are working on your fishing levels this is probably the best thing to catch - and fast too.

 

 

 

Once you catch and cook them there is not much of a market to sell them.

 

 

 

So they are a 'throwaway' food that you use when training combat skills.
