July 5, 200719 yr Hey, hey. I recently purchased a VGA High Definition cable for my X-box 360. I plugged it in and cranked the screen resolution up. Great picture, except I have no sound. Now, I figured I'd just plug the two red + white component cables into the ports on the TV. Didn't do anything. Tried them in SCART and still nothing. Next to the VGA port on the TV there's a "PC Audio" socket. Do I need to use that for sound? It seems a bit pointless having the red and white component cables if that's the case. Any information on this would be great. :)
July 6, 200719 yr i have my 360 hooked to my HD computer monitor and i plugged in the Red/Green/Blue cables into my monitor, and plugged the other two into my sub woofer/surround sound. Im guessing you might not have audio input on the TV/Monitor... can you find the monitor on the net with the specifications and link me to it please? PC monitors most likely dont come with audio output since the audio comes from the PC which has a sound card. In which case you will need a sound system. If its a regular TV you should be able to get sound, just plug the other two cables into matching ones, if it doesn't work in one, try it on another it wont hurt it.

I tried plugging the two cables into what I thought would be the sound if using a VGA cable, I was wrong. :P There is an audio jack on the TV for a pair of PC speakers so I'll see if I can find something that converts the red and white component cables into that kind of jack. Earlier on, I tried plugging the red and white cables into a hifi system, then outputting it via auxillery to the speakers attached. Sound worked fine except it's impractical to have the hifi on my desk (TV is wall mounted and the cable isn't too long).
July 6, 200719 yr Red, Blue and Green HD Cables are for video, so place them accordingly. You also need to use the Red and White cables from the other group of cables, those are audio, and they should be plugged into "Audio Imput" or something like that. Good luck, hope this helped

Good luck, hope this helped You're talking about something that isn't in use. The TV doesn't have HD component cable input. It only supports VGA, DVI and SCART. Thanks anyway. :)

July 11, 200719 yr Author Eventually solved this by purchasing: 2x RCA Phono Female to 1 x 3.5mm Male Jack Audio Cable. Then I just used that to plug the two component cables into the "PC Audio" jack on the TV. :)
