To shade a pixel: Use a pencil tool or a 1x1 color thingy and select a darker shade of whatever you're coloring. Then cooolor. I think thats all there is to it. If you brush it...its not a pixel sig.

he is right. if u dont do it to everyones specs. it changes from pixels on ur screen to points or dots. PLEASE STOP CALLING FREE HAND ART PIXEL ART!!!

forget that ^ im jk.

He is correct in that if u want it to be 100% free hand art. i dont see whats wrong with shading with a brush it looks better i think.

It looks like a pixel line drawing of an existing picture in the way certain details don't seem to fit (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't mind if it is, everyone has to start by looking at existing work.

Small details and shading.

The overall picture is good but as s/he is sitting down I can't comment on stance, as well as the way the cloth blankets much of the figure.

The green cloth under the robe at the left side of the picture looks uncomfortable in the way it shows between a gap in the red cloth, it looks rather like someone has half torn the sleeve from the robe and you can see what the figure is wearing underneath.

Straighten the sword out, I know that katana-like swords have a slight curve to them but no swordmaker has ever made a sword that bendy while sober, use a line drawing tool to get a straight line for the handpiece and edit the scabbard pixel by pixel until the curve looks right.

Feet, more detail and a little shading. Try looking in a mirror at your own feet if you cant get how to draw them. Same for the hands. The figures right hand looks as if its been broken at the wrist.

Theres also the little lines which almost make a broken border to the sleeve at the cuff area.... why are they there at all?
