good scene but i know why it could be bland! the horizon line...cuts the picture in half... the one focal point (sun) is right near that line. we learned something about composition in my design class *faiL* but i forget what it specifically was in relation to your photo

I don't care what other people believe. If they accuse me of being a man, then it's their problem, I know for a fact what I am, so why bother talking to some 12 yr old? Sometimes when guys say inappropriate things, I just tell them that I'm a man, and then they'd leave me alone.

Soooooooo another attempt at realism. Except I added emotion which doesn't suit the character >< I drew his headset without a ref so it looks weird. I'll fix it later. U know it looks REALLY weird.

Weebob: Final Fantasy always does that half skirt thing. Look at Yuna haha and Cloud. 100% DONE I'm happy For the purpose of identity I have blurred out my face, which sucks cuz you can't see the headband. These were random pictures from my friend's camera I'll take real photoshoots later with better quality. I made her tank top too big though. Ah well, compensates for the super short shorts. People on the buses and malls were staring at the weapon, I felt so out of place hahah The shuriken nearly killed me to make. I also placed thin glow sticks on the blades for the rave. But not the weapon.... I won an art contest and the money is going to be spent on polystyrene, which will be the covering of my fuuma shuriken. I figured that since I have extra sheets of styrene left I could forge them into a rune scimitar....and then make a red mask to create my runescape character: I have decided to pick a simple outfit since making full rune/zammy is just too time consuming [and nerdy lololol] Also I'm doing this for practice and hopefully I'll get better at prop-making/sewing. If you find it too hard to draw it straight up Make a few sketchy lines to check up on anatomy Then go over those lines etc. That didn't make sense. >< Also her eyes are too close together Good job on the arm so far

I was lazy and have not taken the time to read through teh entire forums.. His arms do not look natural, perhaps next time bend them? Then again I am not familiar with skateboarding [i can't turn!] My favourite part would have to be the background. It's so pretty and detailed. You captured the perspective in the cities nicely. Another thing is, the details and effort you put into the sig is more visible if it's darker...The contrast atm is too bland? Not sure. I could be wrong XD

I think everyone's saying it looks like a buddy due to the anatomical porportions. If you want to improve, it is advisable to look up tutorials on shading... You got the right concept with the lighting...and how stuff gets darker the further it is from light. However, it seems to be gradient shaded, which is not as aesthetically pleasing haha. Did you shade the boy?

Kuroi_Ame: I fixed the shiny-ness of the lips =) [and toned down the skin] Male features? I guess in the west it must be harder to discern between male and women. But in Asia it's a bit different. My attempt was to do something between anime-realism. In anime males tend to look feminine, bishounen I mean haha. Depends on the anime. Or preferences. AnYhow in my culture it's considered handsome if you look like a girl. I know that sounds wrong [having trouble translating], but it's HARD to explain. Um um ok pictures. Ok the guys below...some are modeled after asian males [like Cloud from FF] [aren't they cute?] Ok now I forget what I trying to explain! Yaddiya, anyhow I'm trying to go for the soft and smooth look, rather than the rougish thug look. I guess that's why he may be perceived as an "ugly woman." Hahahah that made me laugh btw ^^ So yeah what I do retain is the larger anime eyes, the crazy hair, and the longer faces [as nazgul pointed out]. I'm not too sure on this style but I wanted to try something different anyhow. This also makes me wonder how I could draw females if he already looks like one. Perhaps more rounded features, longer eyelashes, and super glossy lips? Also I realize that I don't quite have the skills or ability to draw what I envision yet so I don't blame you for having difficulties with the gender.
