Well I've had a lot of free time lately, and I have been browsing through the media boards. Some of the work here is amazing..like...jaw dropping :shock:

 

 

 

Many talented artists on tip it forums, and I am inspired to test my skill in simple graphic designs, sigs, etc.

 

 

 

The one thing is that I am terrible at drawing :lol:

 

 

 

I've never tried to draw on the computer really, but do you really need to have good drawing skills in order to create good looking work? Any tips on practicing? Im getting Adobe Photoshop CS 8 in about 30 minutes, 25 ..wait 23 seconds ( :lol: yea, don't ask) and would like some tips from the best out there, and how you got started!

Pencil and paper my friend, then scan and edit with photoshop.

 

 

 

easier than mouse.

I'm not sure if their out where i live, but you can get a ''mouse pencil drawer'' which is a mat like you use your mouse on but you draw on it and it comes up on your monitour. Very fun to use and easyier than paper and pen. Mta.

I'm not sure what their called i'll take a look around some Computer shops on the internet and find out what their called. But i'm pretty sure I will be purchasing one of them! Mta.

Start out at http://www.good-tutorials.com. It can really get you started and help you learn the basics.

Flash is pretty easy I've made things I couldn't draw on it and its easy to edit but its not free.

Well I have photoshop 8 CS now...its pretty cool. Im looking through some tutorials at the website you have told me to..things are going ok..getting the hang slowly. One thing tho, when I click something on the toolbar like text, the little text cursor should show up when I move the mouse into the box? Sometimes it does that and works great, other times it still shows the normal mouse cursor. I can click and try everything under the toolbar, like gradient, crop, rectangle box, but the cursor never changes :? Any idea why? The problem is usually fixed by restarting the program..but its kinda annoying.

Well I use Macromedia Flash MX 2004 for all my art weither it's Stick People *cough* http://members.rogers.com/revan/sigs.htm *cough* or real people (workin on that)

It's pretty annoying. I'm going through tutorials learning how to do different cool things (yea..so far it has been pretty cool!) but I can't get halfway through something without having to restart the program. Halfway through the tools just don't work...I click a tool, go into my workspace to use it, but nothing happens. The same pointer is still there (regular white mouse cursor) so I cant do anything except for pointless clicking. Help Please!

Sorry, but I have no idea how to fix that. I've never had that happen to me, but I do use PS7. The only thing I know to suggest would to reinstall the program. Sorry I can't help.

for drawing things with moniter theres a sony vaio moniter.... comes with pen too. my friend has one
