July 26, 200718 yr http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInf ... ID=5592390 Basically about you know how parents are so devestated when they find their kids are using curse words, porn(ha, never thought I'd be caught but after 2 years, meh imagine it), and how they'll try to censor you. Alot of kids I know around here make 2 myspace pages, 1 to throw off their parents and another to do what they want with their friends. Myspace is like a security from adults for us, well she found that also. It addresses the fact of lying also. I got in deep for that combined with porn and just overall it's how I felt but I wrote from a perspective that any teenager would be able to come up with. At first I took a beat and started killing it with curse words(not the first time she heard me curse here but she wants me to stop it in my lyrics for the last 2 years I'm with her which was the main focus of that version) and making personals on how she keeps tabs on me with an internet nanny [cabbage] thing cause of the porn. Just listen, listen to us, listen to the kids. Honestly, anyone can listen to it and still feel it(assuming you're older then 15), rock or rap fan, ya know, it's more underground and has a message in it.
July 26, 200718 yr (Sighs) What can I say, I honestly think the song sucks, not just because I'm not a Rap/Hip-Hop kind of guy, I just didn't like it. I also think posting the name of the song, the artist and genre might help, just so that those who dislike rap/hip-hop know to avoid it. The thing about being a "Teen Anthem" is just plain bull. You cannot say a song represents teenagers, because teenagers change their preferences like crazy. Just to let you know, I am one of those teenagers, however I do consider myself considerably open about music. Also, if your parents don't want you to swear or anything, try not to, atleast in their presence or that of other adults, most adults don't like it because, while they are only words, society has pretty much brainwashed everyone that they are "bad" words. I honestly think us teens only swear because it's considered "bad". For some reason we do alot of things for that reason, among others. Oh yeah, on the porn topic, don't, it can sometimes give you some very disturbing thoughts, trust me, I know from, a little experience. To end with a little critique on the song, I didn't really hear anything in the ten seconds I listened to it that had anything along the lines of metphors and other linguistic tools. Basically, it was all literal and had no depth, something that makes a song quite a bit better. Typical of rap/hip-hop and why I'd prefer rock, alternative, ska and the many other forms of music I listen to. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.
July 26, 200718 yr Author 1, I made the song :D, but I'll stay open minded with you since you did take the time to make such a lengthy post. 2, It was how I felt at the time and I thought that ALOT, not all, ALOT, of teenagers can relate because I see it all the time here how a parent will go through such an expense to find out what you're doing. And yes the porn, bad, I wasn't muchso talking about giving me my damn porn and let me be, I was combining the bars: "......Pornography n words that are said by any young man, maybe it's a phase give me my room don't lock me in a cage" My mom told me not to do it anymore once I learned the full extent of the program she was using to track my stuff(note, prior to any porn being found I was never tracked, ever) and somewhere up in there I lost my computer(can't exactly remember the events flowing in order at the time right now lol-note the computer is my life basically around here in the middle of nowhere, aside from my job and my means of communicating with friends). And the subject of "bad" words, I've been saying them since I was 8, most kids around here have. My brother when he was 16 told me santa wasn't real plus told me the "F word", such a nice brother eh? So this is something that's been with me for 8 years now and I tried implementing it into my music, she can't hear me record, I'm not forcing her to listen to my enjoyment(almost a direct quote from the song, cba'd to write it out), so why should I change? Well I was given my reason a day or so ago, she would plug my computer, sad I know but it's the only communication I have with the outside world besides TV. I'm kinda tired of typing now and no use in making a long long long post about every sentence in it but I know someone will like it and I wasn't saying that if you were a rock fan that you WOULD LIKE IT, moreso you WOULD RELATE TO IT, in some way, shape or form. I also mentioned it was rap somewhere up there, I've been posting rap songs, sorry if you didn't or couldn't know/figure it out, and yes I'm the artist.
July 26, 200718 yr The song overall was good. The lyrics were thoughtful, but the background beat killed it for me. 26M Crafting XP
