Hacking the PSP to play PS1 games

I was talking to my friend the other day, and he said that this was something he managed to do (though it took him a whole day). I was wondering how to do it and if anyone here knows how. Also I read that it requires an older version than the current one or something (you can see I don't really understand it) and that you may be able to downgrade :-k . So can anyone kinda explain what I need and help me out really, 'cause I don't wanna buy a PSP until I know that it's possible.

all the instructions on the various ways to do it are on there. Please keep in mind though.. its illegal, and sony are planning to bring out an official service to play ps1 games on the psp in the future.

The illegalness can be questioned with this. Like other emulators if you own the game it's not illegal, and this is just another emulator.

 

 

 

Before you even start trying, if you have above psp firmware 3.1 don't even try, there is no downgrader on newer firmware.

 

 

 

If you do want to buy them legally you need a ps3.
