Hi all,

 

 

 

I am currently tring to install java on my Ubuntu Distro of linux, the instalation worked, with no errors and i am able to run java applications localy on the computer. However, I cannot run java applets, java applications on a web site, or any java application that is not installed localy on my machine.

 

 

 

My specs

 

 

 

Nivada [model unknown - finding out] 512MB Graphics card

 

ASUS Motherboard (sorry no model Number :oops: )

 

3GB kingston ram

 

AMD 1.8Ghz Processor

open a terminal and run this command

 

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-fonts sun-java6-bin

 

 

 

it will install java respos for you, then close your browser what ever it maybe then reopen and type this into the address bar

 

 

 

about:plugins

 

 

 

and some where on that page you should see Java Plug-in 1.6.0-b105, or something close to that

 

 

 

and then go to runescape.com and try to load a world
