nyyankees588
Ok well yesterday I stupidly downloaded a file that after doing realised was a trojan/spyware. I immediately ran my two anti virus progams, avg and spyware doctor and spyware doctor came up with what it was and that it could delete it. After deleting it I restarted the computer and the background was wierd. I thought oh no its not fixed.. Well it is fixed and my background is normal its just one little thing that appears on the bar at the bottem with the date and other things. I have run the scan again two times and it can't seem to remove whatever it is. The computer seems to be running ok its just that little thing. I was wondering if anyone could give me some help. Here is a pic of the eblem and what it says every 5-10 minutes or so. I know it is something that is simply trying to get you to download their anti virus program. So does anyone know how to remove this via another program etc? Getting another sig[removed]
blade995
Well It looks like a genuine windows alert, but I have a strong feeling it's not. Boot into safe mode and do the following. To get there press f8 repeatedly while booting your computer. Choose "Safe mode with networking" Scan with Ad-aware and Spybot. Update the definitions first, then remove everything they find. If it's not gone after that, then post a hijackthis log from normal mode.

Hijackthis is a program that tells about about everything running and that starts up on the computer. It can usually detect more than other programs but you need to remove the stuff manually. If you do need to run it, don't remove anything without somebody telling you to do so. Google is your friend.
