wobbie4t
Hi all. A few friends and family have been doing some intensive treasure trailing recently, trying to fill in the gaps in Level 1 reward items. (and no, not water runes..) And I've become the de-facto item holding person, since I had the most bank room. Anyway, I thought, this is a good idea, and it beats trailing all over Runescape trying to find the same low level items over and over again, as, certainly for the Level 1 clues, they are things you don't usually keep hold of. All it needs is for a few more people to do the same, so there's usually someone online, and we'll have clue scrolls sewn up! So.. with this in mind, we've put together a sort of lending library scheme. Actually, it's more of a database of who's involved and what items they normally hold, arranged so that you can search for and find a person, they will sell you the required items at a fixed price (based on the price guide) and there's a guarantee to buy it back when you've finished, less a small charge. (Hey, we all want to make a profit!) All quite legal under the rules, as it's just trades. (And I checked with Jagex, too.) We're not quite up and running yet but I'd be interested in what people think, whether they would use such a service either as borrower or lender (and thus make some money!) and what else we ought to be thinking of. I've got a website set up, it's mostly complete, as far as operational information and the normal user side of things goes, allowing searches and so forth, although I've only test data on there so far of course. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link or not, so pm me if you would like the address. Cheers!
Deacon
Sounds like a cool idea. I hate keeping lots of basically useless junk in my bank just because I might need it for a TT, but experience shows that as soon as I get rid of something, less than a day later I get a clue that requires exactly the item I just sold / alched / dropped. Malhavok
Sounds like a good idea, people keeping the items required for emote clue scrolls. I would volunteer my bank but it os near full and I am offline to much. Geaux Tigers ! Congrats on a great year !
wobbie4t
Well I'm glad of the positive responses! It should work with people holding as much or as little items as they wish - even just three or four items as used in one or two clue scrolls would be enough - the locate function will prioritise people who hold the exact items requested. In fact, I'd rather see 100 people with 3 items each to lend, than six with fifty items - there's more chance lenders will be online when needed! If anybody would like to see what's been done so far, then, since I can't see anything in the rules saying no links (unlike another site I occasionally visit) it's here: www.RuneLoans.com. Sorry that the layout is a bit, ahem, functional, but I'd rather get things straight as to how it all works than invest time and energy in graphics at this stage! (Although help is always apprecated; I stink at graphics!) Wobbie4t
