I'm not sure how many people here know about a game called Mafia.

 

 

 

It's a game that can be played in chat or in forums.

Basically the game is this: there will be a number of players (as this is a trial game, seven will be enough for now).

 

There are two phases to each Game Day:

 

the Day Phase

 

-where townsfolk get together and lynch a person (or no one at all);

 

and a Night Phase

 

-where players with special roles utilize their abilities. This is also when the Mafia strikes.

 

 

 

The people will be

 

 

 

2 Mafias

 

4 Townsfolk

 

and 1 Doctor.

 

 

 

This is how it works.

 

 

 

Before the start of the game, I will PM all 7 people with their roles. Don't tell other people your roles, obviously.

 

 

 

When the game is in the Day Phase, everyone still in the game (and this includes the remaning mafia members) throws a vote in for someone they want to lynch. For someone to be lynched, there must be a majority vote. If it's an even number, 50% of the votes will do (eg to lynch with 5 people 3 votes are needed; with 4 people 2 votes are needed).

 

 

 

Feel free to discuss who you're voting for as long as you want.

 

 

 

You can also vote: no lynch if you do not want a lynch to happen for that Day Phase. Otherwise, to vote for someone you want to lynch, do as follows:

 

vote: [user] in bold.

 

 

 

The day phase does not end until there is a majority (or 50%) vote for lynching a particular person or no lynch. Lynching takes precendence over no lynching --- so for example if there are 6 players left and 3 want to lynch someone and 3 others don't want to lynch anyone at all, the lynching will take place. You can change your vote at any time until the last vote comes in.

 

 

 

 

 

During the Night Phase, the two mafias are to decide on a victim or no victim via PMs. (Note: BOTH mafia members should PM me with their victim, for checking purposes.)

 

The doctor also PMs me someone he wants to protect (he can protect himself, however he can't protect the same person twice in a row), the three normal players don't do anything.

 

 

 

When all this has been done, I will post the results of the Night Phase and the whole thing loops over again!

 

 

 

Whenever someone is killed, their role is revealed immediately.

Also each day/night in this game will have a 48 hour time limit...after the first game i will increase the amount of people who can play.
