August 20, 200718 yr It depends how you want your RPG to be. If you want it like RuneScape(runnable on almost any computer.) Java would be the way to go. If you want extremely pretty graphics, C or C++ would be the way to go. You'd also need to learn how to make good 3d models or find somebody to make them and learn trigonometry and physics(if you don't already know them) for the gaming engine. Unless you use a premade engine which won't be as customisable and extensive as if you coded it from scratch.
August 20, 200718 yr You should just hop to C++ since it is the more advanced version of C, but I believe it is more complicated than C i hear. Not really sure about Java. Pardon my limited programming knowledge. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Pardon my limited programming knowledge. C++ isn't terribly complicated, I can't compare it to C though as I never did that. I don't think it really matters which you go after first, but I would go for C++ personally. Keep in mind it takes a lot of time to even get to a level where you could make a simple GUI app, making your own game without any prior knowledge of programming will take a very long time and I would start it off small if I were you.
