How many bronze/irons from 82 to 99 ranged without picking?

I'm assuming you'd use a msb and be training on something you can hit pretty regularly. From 82-99 range you'd be hitting 10-12 with irons. To take an average, you'd be hitting about 5 per arrow = 20 exp each arrow, divided by the 10.6m range xp you need for 99 = around 500k iron arrows.

That's a lot of money. I'd recommend you try to get the accumulator.

Of course, if you're f2p, which you failed to mention, you'd be using a lot more.

About 467k Bronze or about 463k Iron arrows.

You really should pick them up, somehow.

You can cut the amount to about 117k and 116k if you do.

Hope this helps

WOW, isnt there a bigger difference?

I thought the exact same thing.

I range at the ogre cage, don't pick up, and use bronze arrows. Looks like I made the right choice.

1k bronze = 15k

10k bronze = 150k

100k bronze = 1.5 mil

500k bronze = 7.5 mil

7.5 million for 99 range isn't that bad if you ask me. I took the 500k number from peronix's post because I think that his calculations make good sense.

If you don't die of boredom firing off 500k arrows, I salute you. If you average 1k arrows per day, it will take you a year and a half to achieve your goal.

All of this said.. What is your ultimate goal? If I remember from your other posts, you have 1 defense and 1 prayer (or maybe you did priest in peril so this is slightly higher?). Do you plan on staying at those low levels when you achieve 99 range? Will you ever level prayer to 52 for smite?

I mention this stuff because I am in the same boat that you are. I don't have an accumulator because you have to have prayer levels in order to do that quest. Heck, if I knew I was going to get 52 pray for sure, I could just level it now and do chin training.

WOW, isnt there a bigger difference?

Well, when I analyzed the max hit data from the Tip It range guide I came

up with some equations that predict the max hit by arrow type and level.

I got

BronzeMaxHit = (Range +14)/9

IronMaxHit = (Range + 15)/9

So, yeah, there's not a lot of difference. Maybe Iron is more accurate?

I use a Curse spell to "pull" the monster over to my ranging spot before I start to shoot.

That way, all of my recoverable arrows are in the loot pile.

It makes arrow recovery fast, east, and safe.

Hope this helps
