Featured Replies

Hey y'all. I have a problem with this thing called 'JDK 2.0.5' I don't know what it is.

Help... Needed very Urgent.. Thanks.

JDK is a Java development kit. Your Java might have been uninstalled.

I think that's Java Development Kit...try reinstalling Java or something along those lines.

TIA, I thought you were Reb, because of your profile in conjunction with the subject #-o .

As stated before, JDK = Java Development Kit. I don't know why a game would care about the JDK, unless you somehow got the source code for it. You should only need a JRE to play something (Java Runtime Environment). Soooo, unless you actually tell us what it is your "playing with", we can't help you much further. As I said, JDK shouldn't be needed unless you are messing with the source code of a program.

And the real Reb can correct me if anything is wrong with what I said.

If it's saying that it's not detected then maybe he doesn't have it on his computer? Have you tried just downloading the JDK?

Yes. There's nothing on Google about JDK 2.0.5.

RuneScape works. But this game needs Java Devolopment Kit.

TIA, thanks =p I don't exactly know how to re-install JDK. But, when I go to change my password on RuneScape, it opens the login thing, and then it pops up with something on the lines of 'Java - Error' I have to click ok >.<

I'll reload Java and customise it this time.

Why not just try downloading the latest version of JDK then? I didn't find anything about a version 2.0.5 either but the newest version is JDK 6 Update 3. Version 2 must be very old. :?

As I said, you should not need a JDK for a game. A JDK is needed to compile source code into executable bytecode. If you downloaded this game, you downloaded the source code, which needs a JDK to compile before it can execute. That was the wrong file. You want a file that is already compiled and only needs JRE to execute. And you obviously have JRE since Runescape works.

Long story short: you downloaded the wrong file. Try again.
