Mining and smithing profitable?

I've been working on my mining and smithing at the moment and I was wondering if it is an effective method for making money once I get a little higher

I currently have 66 mining and 52 smithing and i probably wouldn't be willing to go much higher than 70 mining for the moment and 85 later and probably wouldnt want to go past 88 smithing either

would it be worth it-- money wise at least-- to get 88 smithing or 70 (or 85) mining? And if so, what would be the most effective way of making money with theses skills (addy ores/bars? etc.)

All responses appreciated <3:

Are you f2p or p2p?

I'm taking it ur f2p from ur non ranked memebers stats.

It's very profitable if you do the right things.

Mining:

First mine 10K Iron ore in Varrock east Mines. Then mine 20K coal in the mining guild. Bank it all. Then if you feel like it make 10K steel bars in Al Kharid furnace(closest F2p). Then sell the 10K steel bars 650ea and make 6.5M(Tip: sell as you mine make buyers come to you). Repeat until your 80 mining which is a fast lvl for mith ores. Mine the same amount of mith ores(10k) and mine 40K coal. Make the 10K mith bars in the same spot. Sell them as you mine too. I Think they're around 1.5K each which is around 15M profit which will be combined 21.6M profit. If you don't want to sell the bars you can smith it.

Smithing:

Do the same as stated above. Then instead of selling the steel bars smith them into whatever you want to. Steel plates are the best XP and sell for 1k each. You'll make 2k steel plates and 2M from this method. Then do again as stated above. I suggest continue making plates even though they don't sell their the best xp/hour with mith.(If you become a memeber i suggest making mith bolts and feathering and selling them). Repeat until desired level.

If you do mith bars and say do 50 bars/hour then thats 15k/hour exp and 75k/hour cash(without cost of nats). If it takes 3.3M exp(for easier to calculate) then 3,300,000 divided by 15000 is 220 hours to get 85 smithing and 16.5M - (300 times 11000) or 16.5-3.3=13.2 but remember it's extremely long and lumby swamp/mining guild is usually full of mith superheaters, so unless you are very lucky in finding world, hobgoblin mines is the best because it's almost always empty.
