Why bother Alching?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been reading the Tip.it site for a while and i saw the shop in the wildy (bandit duty free shop) bought things at the high alch price... i wanted to know if this is true, if so this could make a lot of profit when u rn't using nats. U could just note all ur items u want to alch walk there and make a lot of profit. the only thing is that it is in the wildy, but u could take a tele with u..

I'm sorry if there are any grammatical foulds but I am not from an English speaking country, thanks

:D

Why bother? -_-"

1. People want mage exp, not profit.

2. Most items don't sell for less then 300 gp then alch value(one nat). If one item alched for 4.45k for example, people would sell for around, 4.3k or around that. So the profit is only 150 gp per item.

3. Going to wildy is very risky.

4. You have to keep walking back and forth, which in the long term, doesn't make enough money comparing to other money makers...

Can you sell there in large quantities? If I don't want to alch yews anymore for 99 flecth could i sell them for more here then to players on open market?

about the 4th: U can note all ur items u wanna have alched and than sell them as noted in once. I think u will spare a lot of time

Obli's store in Shilo will also buy at the high alch price if you are wearing Karamja Gloves #3.

But these stores only pay that price for the first item. The price slowly drops as the stock increases.

So, you either stand there and sell one item at a time or you resort to high alching to get the best price.

This is one of the failures of the recent shop reworking, IMO. People once again have to stand in banks alching to get the best price, when they could have just sold all their items to the store and actually gone out and killed dragons, done quests, played the game, etc.

-1 to Jagex for lousing this up.
