big problem with games such as Counter strike source.

Ok, recently my game has been doing this realy weird thing. I will be playing like normaly, and all of the sudden i'll hear a loud breakup noise followed by a shreik. And it will repeat that. My game will than lag up like crazy, and my ping that was once at a nice 90 is now 900.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have found that it happens in cs:s and day of defeat as well. so it isnt just one game. I play those games as well, and i haven't realy played much of a single player game to see if it messes up as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This usualy happens randomly. Sometimes i'm fine for hours, sometimes i'll have it happen like twice in 30minutes. I have to reboot my pc, because it lags up the whole machine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you need any more info tell me. I just want to get this problem solved, it's bugging the crap out of me. :(

When I lag in any steam game, I hear the sound being played as if I were swimming in water (I think because when you lag it basically reloads everything... therefore replacing the... well you end up in water on a blank map)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

anyways, yea I will drop in towmorrow and hopefully try and think up some junk to ... rig it :?

I would have to believe that its one of three things.

 

 

 

A faulty CPU/or Motherboard, as its lagging your entire computer.

 

 

 

Bad Sound Card....I know from experience, my sound card sometimes fs up games really badly.

 

 

 

Bad graphics card, maybe even overheating of the graphics card.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, are these games all online? Does your internet lag also?

They are online, and no my internet doesn't lag.

Nvida 5500 (or 5600) video card

 

 

 

Audigy (forgot which one, but quite recent)

and it only happens randomly. Usualy my pc works fine.
