Mods, Locks, etc.

Featured Replies

Why do mods feel the need to lock everything in sight when most threads that get locked could easily just be altered a bit, and discussion could continue?

I mean really it seems like mods are more going with whatever they want rather than doing their jobs.

Why I bet this thread will even be deleted or locked right away. So much for free speech. But still, if it doesn't and constructive discussion is allowed to continue about this subject, I will definitely be impressed.

I've had many threads of mine locked for reasons like 'it turned into a flame war' or 'prompt some discussion about the topic' or whatever. And I've seen threads locked for such stupid reasons, most of which could easily been edited out whatever was wrong with the thread.

I think mods have just become like 'lock-happy', and feel the need to lock everything in sight so they can make sure we all know they are the mods.

And know that this is not a personal attack against any specific mod, rather just a thread for discussing whether or not you guys think too much stuff is getting locked all the time. I think its rather annoying.

I'm quite sure Mods understand there purpose here on the forums,

and this thread is all because your thread got locked isn't it..?

So, whining like a [bleep] is going to help?

Any mod/admin will tell you that you should take up these kind of issues with them via PM. It's quite simple really, I mean, if you were in charge and, God forbid, the world will never have to endure such torture, would you want a whole bunch of threads posted that constantly undermine and criticise the moderation of the forum?

To put this in terms that might be more suited to your capacity, it's a case of: Like it, or lump it.

So much for free speech. But still, if it doesn't and constructive discussion is allowed to continue about this subject, I will definitely be impressed.

Freedom of speech on a privately owned message board? Hah good one. Also we aren't here to impress you, we are here to look after the boards and make sure they are a good place to browse.

As has been said, you are free to pm the mod who you are unhappy with or you can even take it up with the admins if you feel specific mods are getting 'lock happy'.

MXM even said you were allowed to repost your subject if you added a little bit of enthusiasm to the original post. Instead you were more interested in putting all your effort into a pitiful little whine because something didn't go your way. Take it elsewhere, this isn't the place.
